A huge brawl broke out between Mercedes Mone and a popular AEW star on Dynamite this week.
The August 19 episode of Dynamite featured a backstage interview segment with Mercedes Moné and Willow Nightingale, conducted by Renee Paquette. The two heated rivals are set to collide for Nightingale’s AEW Women’s World Championship at All In 2026. To keep their tensions from erupting, the interview took place with both women in different locations in the building.
As expected, things got heated between Mone and Nightingale. The reigning champion berated The CEO, reminding her that she had her number and the connection with the audience Mone never had. Moreover, both women exchanged strong words and heated statements until they decided to meet in the arena and let their fists do the talking. However, as Nightingale was walking towards the area Mone was at, the AEW top star launched a sneak attack on her.
Both women began to brawl in the backstage area and made their way to the ringside area. Mercedes Mone and Willow Nightingale then took the fight inside the ring until the security personnel had to intervene and separate the two. However, even when officials tried to keep them apart, Nightingale and Mone broke out and launched at each other, landing punches. Finally, security was able to pull them apart for good, as Mercedes Mone was escorted out of the ringside area, while Nightingale shared a moment with the audience before the segment came to a close.
Mercedes Mone is 2-1 against Willow Nightingale when it comes to major matches. Moreover, The CEO has never won the AEW Women’s World Championship since her debut in 2024, walking into All In 2026 with a chip on her shoulder. Despite that, she seems confident and ready to put her rival in her place, so it remains to be seen if she can finally win the title in London, England, in 11 days from now.
