“I could go on and on about this man” –  Francisco Lindor’s spouse Katia pens emotional response after Mets famous person wins 2026 Roberto Clemente Award

In addition to being one of the finest shortstops in the major leagues, Francisco Lindor was recently recognized for his outstanding philanthropic efforts to give back to the community, as he received the prestigious Roberto Clemente award on Monday.

Soon after, his wife, Katia, posted to Instagram, sharing her emotional reaction.

“I could go on and on about this man, my husband, and the 2026 recipient of the Roberto Clemente Award, and what this honor means to our family. But if there’s one thing I hope our children grow up understanding, it’s that their father’s greatest legacy will never be measured in records or accolades, but in the lives he touches, the people he serves, and the difference he makes beyond the game.

“One of the greatest privileges of my life has been getting to do this work alongside him, to witness the impact of giving back. My love, your greatness extends far beyond the baseball diamond. I am endlessly proud of the man you are, grateful for the good we get to do together, and honored to do this life alongside you ❤️ @lindor12bc,” Katia Lindor posted.

The Roberto Clemente Award is given annually by Major League Baseball (MLB) to the player who shows extraordinary character, community involvement, philanthropy, and positive contributions both on and off the field.

“We both almost cried” – Francisco Lindor reveals how he and his wife Katia reacted immediately after learning of Roberto Clemente award win

In an interview with SportsNet New York on Monday, Francisco Lindor revealed how he and his wife, Katia, were almost moved to tears after the Mets infielder got to know he was going to win this year’s Roberto Clemente award.

“She was very excited. We both almost cried,” Francisco Lindor revealed. “Our eyes were watery. I know she’s been very passionate about it. She’s also out there in the community just as much as I am. She’s advocating for people to help others, guide others.”

“She’s the rock of our family and I’m very proud of the work she continues to do on a daily basis. This is something when our kids grow up, they’re gonna look back and say my mom and dad were very cool because they were blessing others and helping others.”
