Justin Gaethje recently shared his thoughts on Arman Tsarukyan offering to help him train for his Paddy Pimblett fight.
Gaethje and Pimblett are set to throw down in an interim lightweight title fight at UFC 324 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas in January. Despite Tsarukyan’s title snub predicament, the Georgian-born fighter recently offered to join Gaethje’s training camp and help ‘The Highlight’ prepare for Pimblett.
In an interview with ESPN MMA, Tsarukyan said:
“I hope Justin Gaethje is not going to drink, party, dedicate himself, be focused. It’s his last chance in his life. He was fighting for the title maybe like five times, so this is his last chance at the end of his career, win the interim title, fight for the real title, and then retire. That’s the best for him. Justin, if you need help, let me know. I will fly to you and help you… That bullsh*t guy [Pimblett], I hate him.” [H/t: MMA Junkie]

While many believe training with Tsarukyan would benefit Gaethje, the former BMF champion is skeptical of the 29-year-old’s intentions. In a recent interview on Submission Radio, Gaethje declined Tsarukyan’s offer and said:
“From my perspective, that was more of him trying to go against Paddy rather than help me. I’m not going to go and start making drastic changes in my training camps when it comes to getting ready for these fights. I trust the team that I have.”
He added:
“I will bring in training partners, but ultimately, I’m not going to bring in guys that I’m possibly going to fight in the future. He would be a great training partner, but ultimately I might have to fight him one day, so I think that would be not smart.”
Din Thomas previews Justin Gaethje vs. Paddy Pimblett fight
Din Thomas recently shared his thoughts on the Justin Gaethje vs. Paddy Pimblett fight. While Thomas admitted that the Liverpudlian was a “crafty” fighter, he backed Gaethje to win.
In an interview with MMA Junkie, the veteran UFC analyst said:
“I’m leaning toward Gaethje for sure. Absolutely. Gaethje is still a banger. Paddy is crafty, Paddy is really crafty, and he’s shown that he can withstand certain things… I just think when Justin Gaethje gets rolling downhill, and the amount of violence he’s able to put on people, you can try to be as crafty as you possibly can, but eventually he’s going to catch up to you, and you’ve got to stand up and fight him.”
He added:
“I’m pretty sure Paddy Pimblett can’t take Gaethje down. I’m leaning toward Gaethje, in fact, pretty heavily actually… I’m not sure he’s going to be able to take the amount of punishment that Justin Gaethje’s able to dish out.”
