Vince McMahon purchased his father’s company, which became WWE, and he was the creative head of the weekly shows for decades. However, it’s scary when you’re supposed to share the ring with your boss, and a legend recently detailed an incident with Mr. McMahon.
Vince McMahon loved wrestling and never shied away from taking a bump or two in the ring. Mr. McMahon was famous for taking all kinds of moves inside the ring, but his opponents weren’t always comfortable, as it was their boss in the ring, and anything could go wrong.
Thanks for the submission!
Speaking on his YouTube channel, D-Von Dudley recalled the time when he shared the ring with Vince and Shane McMahon for a tag team match. The WWE legend stated he hated working with them in the ring, as McMahon was his boss and Shane was McMahon’s son.
“Well, I’m gonna say this: working with those guys, you’re scared for a couple of reasons. It’s the boss and the boss’s son, so you don’t want to hurt them. So you have to be ultra careful on how you treat them and how you move them… We fought Vince and Shane, and we’re about to put Vince through a table. DX runs down. I had Vince on top of Bubba’s shoulders, ready to put him through the table. Road Dogg comes in and hits me from behind. I go into Vince and Bubba, and Vince falls from the top rope to the ground on the floor,” Dudley said.
Moreover, Dudley thought he was about to lose his job when he and Bubba dropped Vince from the top rope to the floor outside. Thankfully, the decorated team wasn’t fired for the botch.
“I sat there and I said, ‘Oh, we’re so sc**wed. Bubba just dropped the boss.’ Oh d*mn. I might as well look for another job. Maybe see if Paul E could bring us back… I didn’t like it, but I kind of accepted it and did what I had to do,” Dudley said.
WWE legend wants to work with Vince McMahon
Teddy Long became a legendary manager in the industry with his work in the WWE under Vince McMahon’s regime. Long was also inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame when all was said and done. While Mr. McMahon isn’t working in the industry, the former SmackDown General Manager wouldn’t mind working with his former boss again.
Speaking on TMZ’s Inside The Ring, the WWE Hall of Famer thinks the company should bring back the former CEO to help the creative team, as the current product has hit a low. Moreover, he’s ready to work with Mr. McMahon if the opportunity arises in the future.
