A WWE Hall of Famer dropped a massive tease on social media. The veteran claimed that he would be a great General Manager in a popular wrestling promotion.
The name in question is legendary star John “Bradshaw” Layfield. The 59-year-old currently serves as an English commentator at Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide’s major events. JBL has also announced himself as a main investor in the company.
Thanks for the submission!
The Mexican wrestling promotion is all set to unveil a new General Manager on May 23 to replace Dorian Roldán. AAA President Marisela Peña is currently searching for a candidate to take over the role.
Earlier today, JBL took to Instagram to tease that he could be the one to take over from Dorian Roldán. The veteran noted that he would be a great General Manager.
“I’d be a great GM of AAA viva la Bradshaw,” JBL wrote.

JBL weighed in on a recent WWE controversy
Last month Tama Tonga was fined a significant amount of money for posting a video of rehearsals, as the Stamford-based promotion has an unwritten rule against recording or posting during rehearsals.
JBL addressed the controversy on the Something to Wrestle With podcast. The legendary star claimed that it was a fireable offense on Tama Tonga’s part. The veteran backed the company’s decision to fine the member of The MFTs and stated that he would’ve supported them if they had even fired the SmackDown star. He further explained how it was different from WWE Unreal.
“This was always a fireable offense. You release something like that, you release secrets of your company…I completely agree with WWE for the fine, for whatever the amount was, and if they’d have fired him, I’d have agreed with it. The company chooses to release that in a way that is canned in their WWE Unreal, which is the prerogative that they have to be able to look at that, edit that, figure out what they want to put out, what they don’t,” JBL said.
JBL has been making appearances as a color commentator on major AAA shows. It will be interesting to see if he becomes the new General Manager of the wrestling promotion.
