“In NFL no one tweets if you beat a woman”: Analyst calls out selective outrage in opposition to Jaxson Dart for supporting Donald Trump

New York Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart has received a lot of backlash after being a part of POTUS Donald Trump’s event in Rockland County on Friday. His teammate, linebacker Abdul Carter, also took to social media to question his quarterback’s decision on the matter.

Amid all the criticism, NFL analyst Clay Travis came forward in defence of Dart. On Saturday, he shared Carter’s tweet while criticizing the fanbase’s selective outrage. He gave an example by comparing the situation to other uncomfortable situations that NFL players find themselves in off the field.

“In the NFL no one Tweets if you beat a woman, but don’t you DARE speak at an event where you’re invited by the president of the United States,” Travis wrote.

Jaxson Dart quickly became a star after being drafted 25th overall by the Giants last year. He was initially named as the backup to veteran Russell Wilson. However, after a disappointing 0-3 start, the former Ole Miss star was named the starting quarterback.

Dart impressed the Giants fanbase with his dual-threat abilities. In 14 games, he put up 2,272 yards and 15 TDs passing while rushing for 487 yards and nine touchdowns. However, his team finished dead last in the NFC East with a 4-13 record.

At the Rockland event, Donald Trump had high praise for Dart and also shared his expectations for the quarterback in the league.

“I want to thank Jaxson Dart,” Trump said. “This is going to be a future Hall of Famer in my book. Thank you Jaxson. Thank you. A lot of talent.”

The Giants fired Brian Daboll midway through the 2025 season in November. Mike Kafka served as the interim coach for the remainder of the games. In January, John Harbaugh was hired as the 21st coach of the franchise to replace Daboll.

Breiden Fehoko calls out Abdul Carter for calling out Jaxson Dart and his support for Donald Trump

Former NFL tackle Breiden Fehoko is of the belief that Abdul Carter made the wrong decision by publicly commenting on Jaxson Dart introducing Trump at his rally.

“Abdul Carter is an idiot. It don’t matter what political beliefs you believe in you don’t call out a teammate publicly for his beliefs. Out of all people to talk,” Fehoko tweeted.

Even though Abdul Carter has dismissed the notion of any locker room tension, there are a lot of concerns about a potential impact on the team’s performance this upcoming season.

The Giants are already in the spotlight as they begin a new chapter under John Harbaugh. Will he able to handle this situation before it blows out of proportion?
