“It was just a warm-up fight”

Three-sport queen and former ONE women’s atomweight MMA world champion Stamp Fairtex of Thailand returned to action at ONE 173: Superbon vs. Noiri last November, losing a tough unanimous decision to former K-1 champion ‘Krusher Queen’ Kana Morimoto.

But even she admits she’s not too heartbroken over the result.

Stamp came back from a more than two-year layoff due to an ACL tear she suffered in 2023. She was expected to blast through Kana in their atomweight kickboxing duel, but came away with an uninspired performance that raised a lot of questions.

Speaking to ONE Championship in a recent interview, Stamp said she’s still happy with how her body responded in a way, and vowed to come back even stronger.

The Thai megastar said:

“Even though I didn’t win, I’m not disappointed. It was just a warm-up fight, and I’m satisfied with my physical condition to a certain extent.”

Needless to say, Stamp Fairtex is looking to return to form in her next fight, which should come early in 2026.

Stamp Fairtex says pre-fight jitters returned for comeback fight at ONE 173: “It reminded me of that old feeling again”

After more than two years away from the game, Stamp Fairtex felt more than just ring rust. She admittedly felt physically queasy.

Stamp says the feeling of being a new fighter once again came over her in her ONE 173 showdown with Japanese star Kana Morimoto. She told Nick Atkin in a recent interview:

“Yeah. It’s been a while, you know. Two years from all this environment. The fight week and everything. And it actually got me very nervous, especially before I stepped in the [Circle]. I wanted to start throwing up, but it was exciting. It reminded me of that old feeling again.”
