It’s virtually giving an enormous center finger to black individuals

LA Lakers star LeBron James had a strong opinion about the city of Memphis, which led Kendrick Perkins to fire back. James appeared as a guest on the latest YouTube video of the channel “Bob Does Sports.” The Lakers star played golf with some of the creators of the channel, and said something about the city in Tennessee.

On Sunday’s episode of “Road Trippin’ Show,” Perkins defended Memphis from what James said. The Lakers star expressed how he’s not a big fan of the NBA city and that it should relocate to Nashville. However, his former teammate did not like what he said and had a blunt verdict.

“The problem I got with LeBron is, when you say s**t like ‘just relocate to Nashville,’ it’s almost giving a big middle finger to the black people,” Perkins said.

Kendrick Perkins also said that having a sports team helps the local community in the city. He said that the team’s presence helps people focus on sports and that there is less violence.

“On the flip side, this is what I’m saying. Bron, you got a I Promise school in Akron, Ohio. Because you were an inner city kid growing up. So what if somebody told you to move that motherf*cker to Columbus somewhere?”

In the YouTube video, James was asked how he deals with road trips, specifically when the team is in a smaller city. This led the NBA star to talk about Memphis and express his thoughts.

“You think I want to do that, being in Memphis on a random-ass Thursday?” James said (Timestamp at 10:47). “We all like, ‘You guys have to move.’ “Let’s go over to Nashville. You got Vanderbilt over there. You got the f****ing NASCAR. You got a stadium. Don’t they got a hockey team too?”

Kendrick Perkins Issued a Stern Warning for the Lakers

The Lakers suffered a disappointing 139-96 loss to the OKC Thunder on Thursday. The thing that stood out the most for them was how the team’s two best stars, Luka Doncic and Austin Reaves, struggled to score.

Doncic finished the game with 12 points, four rebounds and seven assists before he was ruled out of the game due to a calf injury. Reaves, meanwhile, had a team-high of 15 points on 55.6% shooting.

According to Kendrick Perkins, the Lakers should re-consider about giving Reaves a significant amount over the summer. The undrafted guard is up for a contract extension in the offseason. Based on reports, the star guard will decline his $14.8 million player option and potentially sign a five-year, $241 million deal.

However, the Lakers’ performance against the Thunder should lead them to rethink their upcoming offseason move, according to Kendrick Perkins.
