Disgraced Special Counsel Jack Smith is gearing up to release a smear report on Trump before Inauguration Day, according to CNN.
Jack Smith previously asked Judge Chutkan to ‘pause proceedings’ in Trump’s cases to assess ‘unprecedented circumstance.’
“As a result of the election held on November 5, 2024, the defendant is expected to be certified as President-elect on January 6, 2025, and inaugurated on January 20, 2025. The Government respectfully requests that the Court vacate the remaining deadlines in the pretrial schedule to afford the Government time to assess this unprecedented circumstance and determine the appropriate course going forward consistent with Department of Justice policy,” Jack Smith wrote earlier this month.
Jack Smith continued, “By December 2, 2024, the Government will file a status report of otherwise inform the Court of the result of its deliberations. The Government has consulted with defense counsel, who do not object to this request.”
Chutkan dismissed the January 6 case in DC against President Trump without prejudice.
The appeals court agreed to dismiss the classified documents case against President Trump.
Jack Smith failed to take the cases to trial and get Trump convicted, so he is going to smear Trump, an innocent man, with a report before Inauguration Day.
CNN reported:
Before Trump takes his oath of office next year, Smith plans to release a final report as required by law on his investigations into Trump, a source familiar with the matter tells CNN.
Attorney General Merrick Garland is expected to publicly release it, as he has with past special counsel reports.
But it’s unclear how much new information would be included, especially in the election subversion case, where Smith recently filed hundreds of pages of legal arguments and evidence gathered for that prosecution.
RNC lawyer Harmeet Dhillon weighed in on Jack Smith’s decision to release a smear report on Trump.
“The very idea of any prosecutor releasing a smear “report” on a defendant he was unable to convict, should be repugnant to any lawyer who believes in the integrity of our criminal justice system. Instead we have gloating trolls cheerleading such a disgusting abuse of process,” Harmeet Dhillon said.
