Jacob Fatu reacts to WWE’s latest star making his debut

Jacob Fatu is all set to face Drew McIntyre in a grudge match at WrestleMania 42 Night One. He recently reacted to a promising upstart’s debut in NXT.

On the latest episode of NXT, Chazz Hall (aka Starboy Charlie) made his WWE debut. He locked horns with Lexis King in the first round of the WWE Speed Championship Tournament. Although Hall didn’t emerge victorious, he delivered a solid performance, garnering praise from viewers and fellow pro wrestlers.

Chaz Hall is a popular name on the independent circuit. He has wrestled for prominent promotions like GCW, DEFY, and House of Glory, among others. In February 2026, Hall competed on WWE Evolve, defeating CJ Valor and Santi Rivera to become the number one contender for the Evolve Championship. He currently holds the ID Championship.

On X, former WWE Superstar Shotzi recently reacted to a video of Starboy Charlie’s NXT debut. The former NXT Women’s Tag Team Champion revealed that she trained with Hall when he was 12. She added that it was a surreal experience to see the 23-year-old thriving in the pro wrestling business.

Shotzi’s post about Hall prompted a response from The Samoan Werewolf. Fatu gave a shoutout to his fellow California native and wrote that his NXT debut was a cool moment.

“PACIFICA, CA OWN COOL MOMENT FOR @starb0ycharlie,” Jacob Fatu posted.

Similar to Chazz Hall, Jacob Fatu also made his name on the independent circuit before signing with WWE. The former United States Champion is currently embroiled in a heated feud with Drew McIntyre.

Major heel helped Jacob Fatu in WWE

Jacob Fatu made his WWE debut as part of the Solo Sikoa-led Bloodline. In MLW, The Samoan Werewolf was known for his unique talking style. However, Fatu was initially scared to bring that aspect of his character to the Stamford-based promotion’s programming.

Tama Tonga, a former stablemate of Fatu, encouraged him to talk like himself on TV. In an interview with Bootleg Kev, the former United States Champion explained how The Good Bad Guy helped him improve as a performer.

“Keep it 100, I was kind of spooked to talk like me. A little spooked to bring out the lingo. But I remember Tama Tonga and Solo, especially Tama Tonga. When Solo was gone, it was just me and Tama. He was like, ‘Hey, bro, you need to talk like you,'” Fatu said. [H/T: WrestleTalk on X]

While Fatu has embarked on a singles run on SmackDown, Tama Tonga is still working alongside Solo Sikoa as part of MFT. In recent weeks, WWE has teased a fallout between Tama and The Street Champion of the Island. The former NJPW star feels Sikoa has begun acting like Roman Reigns.

It will be interesting to see if WWE explores the angle between Sikoa and Tama in the coming weeks. MFT currently doesn’t have a match at WrestleMania 42, which will take place in Las Vegas this month.
