Jey Uso lost the WWE World Heavyweight Championship match to CM Punk at Saturday Night’s Main Event (SNME). This was his second chance to grab the World Heavyweight Championship back, after losing it to Gunther in June.
The Yeet Master had qualified for the match against Punk after winning the Battle Royal tournament on Monday Night RAW, two weeks back. He had even eliminated his brother, Jimmy Uso, just to qualify for the title match.
However, in the end, Jey had to bite the dust. And this might probably be his last chance to get a title shot. There isn’t a second opinion on the fact that he may be massively over with the fans, but Jey’s run as World Heavyweight Champion was unconvincing.
He was considered no match to Gunther and wasn’t even impressive with his in-ring skills. WWE sensed the silent heat Jey was getting as a champion, and before things could have gotten worse, the company stripped him of the title. This might have come as a terrible blow for the Yeet fans, but this was something waiting to happen.
The company got him teamed up with Jimmy Uso once again, and the fans thought that Jey’s singles run was over. But he was once again brought back into the title picture and made to compete for the gold at Clash in Paris PLE, and now at SNME. And he lost in the second attempt also.
So, what does he do now? Jey Uso might quit the company out of frustration. The loss at SNME could signal his end as a contender for the title. Bringing him back into the tag team division with Jimmy Uso also won’t be a good idea since there are already many tag team units in WWE. As of now, Jey could step away from the ring for a while and look at how things unfold in the company.
Jey Uso reacts after losing to CM Punk at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event
Jey Uso was visibly upset after the loss at SNME. After the match, he took to his social media account and wrote, “Y’all win” with a middle finger emoji.
“Yall win.”
This is another indication that the former WWE World Heavyweight Champion can walk away from the company. Moreover, Jey’s upset reaction also comes from the fact that his Battle Royal win at SNME wasn’t taken well by the fans.
Many fans wanted LA Knight to win the match and face Punk at SNME. However, LA Knight was eliminated by Jey Uso along with Jimmy Uso. It now remains to be seen how Triple H books Jey Uso after this string of losses.
