AEW’s Jim Ross vented frustration over WWE’s recent decisions. Recently, the company inducted the late great Sid into the Hall of Fame class of 2026 as a legacy inductee. His heel persona and exceptional stature cemented his legacy as one of the all-time greats. Unfortunately, he passed away in 2024.
Despite being one of the sport’s top contributors, there was no significant presentation or promotion in his name during the Hall of Fame ceremony. Sid’s son even issued a statement on how they mistreated the legend’s moment.
While speaking on Grilling JR, Jim Ross was also furious about Sid’s presentation. He claimed that WWE’s legacy inductions are a joke and the promotion should have done a better job at the 2026 Hall of Fame.
“If my daddy was going into the Hall of Fame, I would want them to have the biggest presentation that they could produce. Based on previous years’ criteria, by a variety of talents, Sid was overqualified to go into the Hall of Fame. [The Legacy Wing] is a joke. It’s just one way to give somebody a payday or some recognition, I understand that, but a guy who headlined WrestleMania a couple of times, a multi-time champion, he deserved and earned…was Sid a pain in the a**? Yeah, sometimes. No doubt about it. He was moody,” Ross said. [H/T – WrestlingHeadlines]
Jim Ross talked about Sid’s career
Sid’s move set was limited in the ring due to his huge stature, but he still managed to pull off astonishing feats during his matches.
While speaking on Grilling JR, Jim Ross described him as a ‘one-dimensional’ wrestler and as predictable.
“Sid was predictable. He did not have a wide-ranging array of wrestling maneuvers that he perfected. He was one-dimensional but in a good way… You know what you were getting with Sid. It worked out pretty well,” he said.
It will be interesting to see if WWE does anything to rectify their mistake after a lackluster Hall of Fame induction.
