WWE legend John Cena just made a big promise mere days before his very last match against Gunther. Cena has made it clear that he won’t be stepping back in the ring again after Saturday Night’s Main Event XLII.
Cena is quite possibly the greatest superstar the WWE Universe has ever witnessed. He has earned the respect and admiration of the fans over the past two decades or so. Cena is set to face Gunther in his last match at Saturday Night’s Main Event XLII.
Thanks for the submission!
In a new interview with Tom Rinaldi, John Cena made a bold statement about his retirement. Here’s his full comment about never stepping into the wrestling ring again:
“Physical activity. 100%. And I very rarely speak in absolutes. Because you never know. And I do know in this case. This is why I can speak in absolutes. Because I don’t wanna let the people that I made a promise to, down.” [37:02-37:17]

John Cena has been called by many as the greatest of all time
At this point, even WWE has acknowledged Cena as the greatest superstar of all time. Over the years, several of Cena’s in-ring opponents have showered praise on his in-ring ability, his mannerisms outside the ring, and his appreciation for the business that made him what he is today.
Cena’s final year in WWE was a rollercoaster ride full of ups and downs. His heel turn fell flat and was one of the biggest mess-ups in the history of professional wrestling, to the point that WWE had no choice but to turn him babyface again.
Now, with Cena mere days away from retiring, the WWE Universe’s emotions are running high. Fans are preparing themselves mentally to bid goodbye to what many feel is the greatest entertainer to step foot in a WWE ring.
