Caitlin Clark fans fired back at former Fox Sports analyst Joy Taylor after she described the Indiana Fever fanbase as “feral.”
On Wednesday’s episode of her podcast, Taylor discussed Clark’s game-winning 3-pointer against the Washington Mystics, the guard’s referee-related complaints and the state of Fever fans.
“Caitlin (Clark) has become an incredibly controversial figure in sports,” Taylor said. “She has a very feral fan base. not always necessarily the most educated fan base when it comes to the W and how all these things work.
“We’ve certainly seen that there’s been a lot of complaints about her and her relationship and antics on the court and also particularly with the referees.”
A Fever fan shared a clip of Taylor’s comments, which didn’t sit well with Clark supporters.
“Joy Taylor shows us once again why she’s an ignorant moron,” a fan commented.
Despite the criticism, Clark remains one of the league’s standout players, averaging 19.9 points and 8.1 assists per game. She dropped her second 30-point outing of the season on Thursday, leading the Fever to an overtime win against the Chicago Sky.
Caitlin Clark praises Aliyah Boston after both deliver double-doubles in overtime win
The Indiana Fever recorded back-to-back wins for the first time this month, and their victory against the Sky was fueled by Caitlin Clark and Aliyah Boston, with both players recording double-doubles.
During the post-game conference, Clark praised Boston for her performance while reflecting on their on-court chemistry.
“I think we’re good friends. That always helps,” Clark said. “When you have that bond, and you truly get to know somebody and build a relationship with them, that helps when you’re on the court.
“I feel like I always know where Aliyah is. I think we’ve got a little telepathy now. So, hopefully we get that going more, too.”
Clark recorded 32 points and 10 assists, while Boston chipped in with 34 points and 12 rebounds.
