If a recent listing on eBay is any indication, the Kansas Jayhawks and Miami Hurricanes are both set to unveil new throwback football uniforms this fall.
The white Kansas jersey, which was shared by eBay user B&J’s VG, is effectively the road version of the all-black uniforms the Jayhawks debuted in 2023, with a 1941 “Warhawk” logo on the helmets and sleeves.
The “Kansas” wordmark across the chest and the numbers are rendered in the circus font made famous by the Jayhawks’ basketball program, while the back collar features the “K” flag that is raised in the north end zone of Memorial Stadium before each game.
Presumably, the uniform will be complete with a matching white helmet that includes an anodized satin blue facemask and white pants with a classic red, white and blue striping pattern down the sides.
The University of Miami, meanwhile, is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year and the Hurricanes will mark the occasion by wearing what sources have indicated are 1945 throwback uniforms – further evidenced by the number displayed on the retail jersey.
The orange jersey includes green block numbers, white Northwestern stripes on the sleeves and would presumably be paired with plain white helmets and orange pants, matching what Miami wore that season, when they went 9-1-1 and won their first bowl game.
Unlike Miami’s orange home, white road and green alternate jerseys, which (as shown below) will be updated to adidas’ latest template, the throwback jersey – which includes a vintage Block “M” below the back collar – will feature an old-fashioned mesh base.
This marks the second time in three years that this eBay user, which used to be known as annazamb53, has leaked a throwback uniform, having previously revealed the throwback uniforms that Nebraska wore to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Memorial Stadium in 2023.
There are also new listings for Grambling State, Louisville, Mississippi State, N.C. State, Texas A&M and Washington, who are all updating to adidas’ latest template. The Cardinals and Huskies are revealing new uniform designs, as well.
