Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray was restricted to just five games last season due to a foot injury. The two-time Pro Bowl has been troubled with injuries, playing the full slate of games in only one of his last four seasons.
Murray signed a five-year, $230.5 million contract extension with the Cardinals in July 2022 and has two years remaining on his contract. NFL analyst Albert Breer said in a conversation with Colin Cowherd that the Falcons could cut the veteran quarterback.
Thanks for the submission!
Breer linked Murray to Seattle Seahawks quarterback Sam Darnold‘s former team, the Minnesota Vikings. The NFL analyst feels Murray can revive his career with the Vikings just like Darnold did in 2024.

“So, I think you see the way that splits up, and I think it probably makes it more likely that Arizona just flat out has to move off of him and cut him, and let him go to the market,” Breer said. “I think he will find a place that will view him as that sort of reclamation project. Maybe it’s Minnesota, maybe it’s the Jets. We’ll see.

“But I think the contract situation makes it a little harder for the Cardinals to hang onto him, and a little harder for the Cardinals to trade him, which makes it more likely that they’ll cut him.”
Kyler has a $36.8 million guaranteed salary for 2026 and another $19.5 million guaranteed for next year.
NFL insider links Indianapolis Colts to Kyler Murray
While Albert Breer linked Kyler Murray to the Vikings, Bleacher Report’s Moe Moton named the Indianapolis Colts as a potential suitor for the Cardinals quarterback.
“The Indianapolis Colts can franchise-tag or re-sign Daniel Jones, though it’s not a lock they’ll do either while he recovers from a knee injury. The 28-year-old tore his ACL late in December, which makes him uncertain to be ready for Week 1 of the upcoming season,” Moton wrote.
“Murray would be a better option. Assuming Murray has fully recovered from a foot injury, he provides more certainty at quarterback with a slightly better resume.”
Colts quarterback Daniel Jones’ injury woes could push Indianapolis to sign someone like Murray to bolster the quarterback room.
