“LeBron requesting a buyout” – NBA Fans Explode as Rich Paul and LeBron James Line Up Meeting With Jeanie Buss After Lakers Governor Stirs Drama

LA Lakers star LeBron James and his agent, Rich Paul, are reportedly scheduled to meet with team governor Jeanie Buss. On Wednesday, ESPN’s Baxter Holmes published an article about Buss’ familial matters that happened before the franchise’s $10 billion sale to Mark Walter.

In the report, Baxter talked about how Buss has been frustrated with James and his influence within the organization. This also includes Paul’s management, Klutch Sports. The article also broke down how the minority owner did not like how the NBA star was viewed as a savior of a “floundering franchise.”

The ESPN reporter also said in the article about how Buss felt James was not grateful enough to the organization after drafting Bronny James. In 2024, the Lakers drafted the former USC guard with the No. 55 pick.

According to ESPN on Friday, James and Paul are set to clear the air with the executive.

Following the update, fans revealed their thoughts.

“LeBron James requesting a buyout,” a fan said.

“He’s getting traded,” another fan commented.

“LeBron is going to use this as a reason to waive his NTC and be traded,” one fan said.

More fans think LeBron James will move on from the Lakers.

“They can clear the air on the way back to Cleveland,” someone commented.

“Hopefully it’s to discuss Lebozos preferred trade destination,” a comment read.

“It’s time for Bron to go somewhere else,” one fan commented.

Everyone was taken aback by the shocking story, which prompted Buss to issue a statement. The Lakers’ governor shut down the report about her souring relationship with James.

“It’s really not right, given all the great things LeBron has done for the Lakers, that he has to be pulled into my family drama,” Jeanie said. “To say that it wasn’t appreciated is just not true and completely unfair to him.”

What did LeBron James say about the reports?

After the report from Baxter was published, Jeanie Buss and Rich Paul were the only ones involved who commented. LeBron James, meanwhile, didn’t talk about it until after the Lakers’ 112-104 loss to the LA Clippers on Thursday.

Despite the claims from the ESPN reporter, James wasn’t bothered by it.

“I don’t really care about the reports, to be honest,” James said. “Since I’ve been here, my eighth year here [in L.A.], been in this league 23 years, there’s [always going to] be another article tomorrow, especially involving me.”

LeBron James is more focused on how the team is performing in the 2025-26 NBA season. Since the report went out, James has not talked about it in front of the media or make a post about it through his social media accounts.
