America’s President Donald Trump simply asked his aides if the Declaration of Independence could be moved to the Oval Office. But with the lying liberal media, it’s yet another reason to make a fakenews Trump ‘scandal.’
The militant liars in the lying liberal press are saying that Trump is Nicolas Cage in the popular 2004 movie “National Treasure” trying to steal the Declaration of Independence.
The original reporting on this non-story was produced by reporters Ashley Parker and Michael Scherer at the Atlantic. Parker is a ‘political analyst’ for MSNBC. Scherer was previously employed by far-left Salon.com.
The first paragraph of the original article for this claim at the Atlantic shows just how dishonest the media plans to be in the story, comparing Trump to a King/Emperor, because of jokes he told on Twitter last month in response to New York Governor Kathy Hochul inferring Trump was acting like a ‘king’ for ending tolls into New York City.
Trump was clearly ‘trolling’ Gov. Hochul, but the media took it literally and made it seem as though Trump was interested in imposing a monarchy on America.
Trump jokingly declared himself a sovereign last month, while his advisers distributed AI-generated photos of him wearing a crown and an ermine robe to celebrate his order to end congestion pricing in New York City. “He who saves his Country does not violate any Law,” he’d decreed a few days earlier, using a phrase sometimes attributed to Napoleon Bonaparte, the emperor of the French.
Similar to how journalistic malpractice claimed Trump was proposing an American Monarchy, later reports have made clear about the Declaration of Independence that Trump was, at most, brainstorming about ways in which to better highlight America’s founding documents. The media is trying to manufacture this into a fake news crisis, however.
There is one copy of the engrossed and signed Declaration of Independence in the National Archives in Washington, D.C. There are six known drafts of the Declaration of Independence, and Thomas Jefferson made seven manuscript copies. There are around 26 known copies. These copies are known as the “Dunlap Broadside” because they were printed by John Dunlap in Philadelphia in 1776. Dozens of copies also exist that were printed within years of the original signing.
A President deciding where to house and display America’s cultural artifacts and documents is not ‘stealing’ or ‘theft’ despite the reporting by the lying liberal media.
Far-left billionaire Laurene Powell Jobs’ Emerson Collective is the majority owner of The Atlantic magazine. She inherited her money after the death of her innovative husband, Apple’s Steve Jobs. Jobs is close personal friends with Kamala Harris, who lost bigly to Trump in the 2024 election.
The far-left media complex spent Trump’s first term using the same model of mischaracterizing a statement or joke and then either ‘fact-checking’ that statement, or blowing it out of proportion with hyperbole. A non-stop series of media lies and hoaxes about Trump, including the discredited and debunked Russia Collusion hoax, were part of this media echo chamber used to discredit Trump with lies and disinformation.
A defining trait of the media’s reporting on Trump, is that they always assume bad faith motives to everything that he does and says, and never assumes the obvious, reasonable, and rational, interpretation.
Right now, the Declaration of Independence is in a dark and dusty National Archives building where schoolchildren rush by it for a fraction of a second on a scheduled and tightly-controlled tour. The National Archives claims it receives one million on-site free visitors each year.
The White House receives slightly more, around 1.25 million visitors each year.
A place of prominence in the White House would ensure that every visitor to the President would be reminded of the centrality and importance of the Declaration, its ideals, and the Founders who committed themselves to the American Revolution. “President Trump strongly believes that significant and historic documents that celebrate American history should be shared and put on display,” said White House spokesperson Steven Cheung about this issue.
The mainstream media reacted to this bit of non-news, sourced entirely to anonymous Trump aides in the White House, about a passing comment by America’s President, with typical Trump Derangement Syndrome:
