Liechtenstein and Cyprus are back in action on Sunday when they go head-to-head in a friendly at Rheinpark Stadion. Having missed out on qualification for the World Cup, both sides will look to gather momentum ahead of the UEFA Nations League, set to begin in September.
Liechtenstein were guilty of a second-half collapse against Andorra on Thursday as they fell to a 2-0 loss at the Estadi de La FAF after conceding twice within seven minutes.

This followed their run in the 2026 FIFA Series, where Konrad Funfstuck’s men secured a 1-0 opening-day victory over Tanzania on March 26, three days before crashing down to earth in a 4-1 hammering at the hands of Aruba.
Liechtenstein, who have lost each of their last four friendly matches, will look to find their feet this weekend and gather momentum ahead of their Nations League opener against Lithuania on September 24.
Meanwhile, Cyprus were denied consecutive victories for the first time since September 2024 on Thursday when they were held to a 1-1 draw by Slovenia in their friendly clash at the Stozice Stadium.
This followed a thrilling 3-2 victory over Moldova on March 30, a result which saw Akis Mantzios’ side’s run of three consecutive defeats across all competitions come to an end.
Like Liechtenstein, Cyprus failed to secure qualification for the World Cup after a poor run in the qualifiers, where they finished fourth in Group H with eight points from eight matches.
