LinkedIn Adds Duolingo Scores on Profiles, AI Job Interview Simulations

LinkedIn’s announced a new integration with Duolingo which will enable multilingual professionals to display their language skills in the app, while it’s also added a new AI-powered interview preparation option for job seekers, to help them put their best foot forward in applications.

First off, LinkedIn has partnered with Duolingo on a new integration that will enable LinkedIn members to display their Duolingo Score directly on their LinkedIn profile.

As you can see in this example, now, when you add an alternative language to your LinkedIn profile, you’ll also be able to display your Duolingo fluency score, which will better demonstrate your actual capacity to speak this language.

As explained by LinkedIn:

For a long time, language skills on LinkedIn have been self-declared, which is helpful but not always enough to give recruiters confidence in someone’s fluency. Now, with the option to add your Duolingo Score on your Profile, we’re making those skills more credible.”

What’s more, once you’ve connected your Duolingo score to your LinkedIn profile, your score will then be linked. So as you learn and improve, your Duolingo score will automatically update, ensuring that it best represents your multilingual capacity.

That could be a good way for recruiters to get the right people for the role, and for professionals to better demonstrate their understanding of other languages.

On another front, LinkedIn is also looking to help job seekers better prepare for job interviews, with custom job interview simulations, powered by AI.

As you can see in this example sequence, now, when applying for a role, you’ll have the option to generate a mock interview, with the questions posed based on the job description in the ad.

That could help you better prepare for likely questions, and reduce anxiety around the process. It could also highlight areas that you may need to brush up on ahead of your actual interview, by presenting questions that relate to specific elements in the job ad.

It could be a handy accompaniment for job seekers. The option is currently being rolled out to LinkedIn Premium subscribers.

Some additional options to help improve your professional standing, and better prepare you for your next career step.
