LinkedIn’s launching some new, AI-powered tools for job seekers, with a new “Job Match” tool on job listings, that will show you how you can improve your chances of getting a specific role, and a separate recruitment AI agent, which is part of its broader push to incorporate AI agents of all types.
First off, on Job Match. Now, when you look at a job ad in the app, you’ll also be able to access an additional review process that highlights how your listed skills match the advertised job, and what you can do to maximize your potential of getting an interview.
As you can see in this example, the Job Match AI process will review your profile, and provide advice based on how well your skills match those listed in the ad. It will then also be able to help you create a cover letter, showcase specific elements, or guide you towards relevant courses to take to help boost your potential opportunities.
As explained by LinkedIn:
“For job seekers, this unlocks the ability to target the right job opportunities by knowing where you stand. Job seekers will see a full match summary explaining how the qualifications from their profile match up every required and preferred qualification on the job – within seconds. This will help you target jobs where your skills and experiences match what the hirers are looking for.”
LinkedIn Premium subscribers will also be able to access additional insights to see how they compare against other applicants.
“[Premium users will get] a categorical rating that indicates if you are a high, medium or low match, and if you have a higher chance of hearing back from the hirer as a Top Applicant. Premium subscribers will also get additional guidance via our AI-powered tools to improve their resumes, cover letters, and see jobs where they are a Top Applicant.”
LinkedIn says that the tool has been built with insights from millions of job postings, companies, and professionals, providing a broad scope of data to power this additional information and guidance. Which could be hugely beneficial in making your profile stand out in applicant listings.
Job Match is rolling out globally in English in the coming weeks, with other languages coming soon.
LinkedIn’s new recruitment AI agent, meanwhile, has been designed to help smaller businesses deal with the recruitment process.
The tool essentially simplifies job listings, with a point-and-click interface to post a job, connect with candidates, and review applicants.
LinkedIn says that 2.5 million SMBs are currently using the app to fill vacant roles, and this new AI agent will help guide them in the process, and streamline their usage.
Late last year, LinkedIn also outlined its vision of a new “agentic era” of digital connection, in which more and more of our day-to-day interactions will be increasingly guided by AI agents that are customized to our specific requirements.
Its new recruitment AI agent is another step along these lines, providing more customized advice and guidance within its tools.
