First off, the report shows that more marketing jobs are being advertised on LinkedIn, which could point to expanded opportunity in the sector.

Though that may also relate to the rising popularity of LinkedIn overall, which has prompted more brands to post their open roles in the app. But either way, if you’re in the market for a new job, there are more available in-stream.

Yet, despite this, the data also shows that the majority of marketers are leaning more towards stability over the next year, as opposed to actively seeking a new role.

At the same time, many marketers are feeling the pressure of rapid change in the sector, with 72% indicating a sense of being overwhelmed by the rate of change at times.

And AI is the main culprit here:

The evolution of generative AI tools has sparked a significant shift in how marketers operate, and there are concerns within the industry around the need to upskill and re-skill to keep up. Which is definitely the case, given the potential of AI tools to conduct all sorts of tasks, which points to the need for marketers to seek out AI education and training.

On that front, the report also looks at the top emerging skills for marketers, based on LinkedIn profile listings.
