LinkedIn Shares Video Tips and Insights in New Newsletter

Looking to tap into video content on LinkedIn?

If you’re serious about growing your LinkedIn presence, you probably should be, with LinkedIn’s overall video watch time up 36% year-over-year. Which makes sense, as LinkedIn’s been making video a focus, with a dedicated vertical video feed, updated video analytics, improved video events, and more.

And if you do want to make video a part of your LinkedIn content approach, this new official newsletter from the platform will help.

Today, LinkedIn has launched its “Create Video” newsletter, through which it will share video tips and usage insights to help guide your video content approach.

LinkedIn Create Video newsletter

As per LinkedIn:

Every two weeks, we will dive into all things video creation and help you unlock its potential on LinkedIn. We’ll share video best practices, inspiring examples, product updates and behind-the-scenes insights to help start or elevate your video creation journey on LinkedIn.

It could be a handy reminder to keep you updated on the latest LinkedIn video updates, while also providing usage data and tips to drive your process.

In the first addition of the newsletter, LinkedIn has provided some simple creation tips:

First, remember to keep it short and grab attention quickly. The sweet spot to hold viewers attention is between 30 seconds and 2 minutes.  We all get scroll happy from time to time so make sure to lead with a hook that will interest viewers and make them stay.”

LinkedIn suggests that hooks, like asking a question, or starting with a common problem, can be great kicking off points for your LinkedIn video clips.

The newsletter also includes examples of successful LinkedIn videos, and notes on key updates, including the addition of video clips in in-app search results.

There are also links to video training courses, which focus on LinkedIn-specific content.

It looks to be a handy prompt, which will help to keep you across your LinkedIn content opportunities.

And again, with video creation is growing at 2x the rate of other post formats in the app, it is worth considering where video might fit into your LinkedIn approach.
