LIV golfers are gearing up to play at the upcoming Mexico event. The tournament will start with its opening round on Thursday, April 16, and ahead of that, they were scheduled to attend a press conference on Tuesday.
However, the conference was canceled due to technical issues. Golf analyst Chris McKee shared the news about this on his X (formerly Twitter) account with a caption:
Thanks for the submission!
“Jon Rahm was scheduled to speak to the media at 10 am this morning at LIV Mexico but has yet to. Any info on what’s happening @LIVGolfComms?”
And then provided an update in another post. He wrote:
“Just received a message from LIV comms. They’re having technical issues so no content or press conferences today.”
The announcement came amidst the “bombshell announcement on LIV’s future.” Monday Q Info shared the update on its X (formerly Twitter) account on Tuesday with a caption:
“Ive heard from multiple sources that a bombshell announcement on LIVs future is imminent. We don’t give out gambling advice but If your’re a prediction market type person I would bet the under of whatever they have posted.”
The LIV Golf Mexico City event will take place at the Club de Golf Chapultepec in Mexico. The tournament will have its finale on Sunday, April 19.
A look into the LIV Golf schedule so far
This week, LIV Golf kicked off with the opening round of the Riyadh event. The tournament was held from February 4 to 7 at the Riyadh Golf Club in Saudi Arabia. Elvis Smylie had a remarkable game on the greens and registered a one-stroke win over Jon Rahm.
Next, the LIV Golf event was in Adelaide, where Anthony Kim was pretty impressive with his game and registered a three-stroke win over Jon Rahm. The tournament was held at The Grange Golf Club in Australia.
