Liverpool FC Launches Adidas Reunion With New Home, Away Kits for 2025-26 – SportsLogos.Net News

After spilling “the worst kept secret in football” back in March, Liverpool FC and German sportswear giants adidas made their reunion official with the release of new home and away kits for the defending Premier League champions.

The two behemoths of sport wasted no time in kicking off their 10-year partnership on Friday, August 1 — the very day the new contract took effect — by releasing the long-awaited kits on their websites and social media platforms. The launch marks the return of Liverpool to the adidas portfolio, having previously been outfitted by the company from 1985 to 1996 and again from 2006 to 2012.

Both kits keep things relatively simple, as far as European soccer kits can go. The home jersey “presents the club’s DNA in its purest form,” according to an adidas news release, with a solid red base and white details like collar trim, front piping and shoulder stripes. The club’s liver bird crest is embroidered on the left chest, with “L.F.C.” underneath.

The away kit, meanwhile, uses an off-white base with black and red accents — “a colourway synonymous with LFC away kits of the past,” adidas says. The shoulder stripes are red while both the collar and sleeve cuffs are split between black and red. Red panels run under the arms. The LFC crest sits inside a red shield, a design the club says is “inspired by the shape of Anfield’s Main Stand from 1906.”

“This is more than just the launch of a new kit – it marks the beginning of a 10-year relationship for LFC and adidas. Since announcing the partnership in March, there’s been a huge sense of anticipation and excitement. This first collection sets the tone for seasons to come.”

Both of the 2025-26 Liverpool kits come in short- and long-sleeved versions. Both also contain the number 97 flanked by eternal flames on the back collar, a tribute to the victims of the Hillsborough disaster of 1989.

Liverpool also released a bright green goalkeeper kit with black accents on Friday that features a tonal pattern radiating out from the front centre of the shirt.

Prior to Friday, Nike had supplied Liverpool with kits, training wear and other apparel since 2020; the club had worn their 2024-25 Nike kits in preseason friendlies throughout July. The club also had contracts with Warrior from 2012 to 2015 and New Balance from 2015 to 2020.

Between 2006 and 2012, Liverpool won one League Cup, one Community Shield and one UEFA Champions League title in adidas kits.

Liverpool’s men’s first team will wear the new home kit in two matches against Spanish La Liga side Athletic Bilbao at Anfield on Monday, August 4, as well as in the FA Community Shield against Crystal Palace on Sunday, August 10, at Wembley Stadium in London.

The women’s team will debut the new away kit in a preseason friendly against Aston Villa on Saturday, August 9.
