On Tuesday, President Trump doubled down on his trolling of House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries after Jeffries’ epic meltdown over a meme video.
After meeting with Democrat leaders Chuck Schumer and Hakeem Jeffries at the White House, footage of their press gaggle was quickly remixed into a devastating meme.
In the parody, Chuck Schumer “told the truth” about Democrats’ collapsing support among voters:
“Look, guys, there’s no way to sugarcoat it. Nobody likes Democrats anymore. We have no voters left because of all of our woke trans bullsht. Not even Black people want to vote for us anymore. Even Latinos hate us. So we need new voters. If we give all these illegal aliens free health care, we might be able to get them on our side so they can vote for us. They can’t even speak English, so they won’t realize we’re just a bunch of woke pieces of sht. At least for a while. Then they learn English and realize they hate us too.”
The video also slapped a sombrero and mustache on Jeffries, a mocking jab at Democrats’ obsession with illegal immigration as a voter-replacement scheme. Trump shared the clip on his official account, instantly sending the Left into meltdown mode.
Hours later, Jeffries ran to MSNBC’s Lawrence O’Donnell, where both men whined about the video.
Jeffries called it a “disgusting video,” accusing Trump of “bigotry that will get you nowhere.” O’Donnell, clutching his pearls, refused to even show the clip, insisting it was “absolutely disgusting in every way” and a “lie.”
Lawrence O’Donnell:
Leading off our discussion tonight is House Democratic Leader, Councilman Hakeem Jeffries of New York. Mr. Leader. I’m not showing this video that Donald Trump put out about you and Chuck Schumer today. This fake video—people are going to see it. They’ll see it in other ways. It’s easy to find. But it is absolutely disgusting in every way. It is a lie. The man you met with has now lied about what you said after that meeting. Could you give us your reaction to that Trump-posted video tonight?
Hakeem Jeffries:
It’s a disgusting video, and we’re going to continue to make clear: bigotry will get you nowhere. We are fighting to protect the health care of the American people in the face of an unprecedented Republican assault on all the things—Medicaid, Medicare, the Affordable Care Act.Republicans are closing our hospitals, nursing homes, and community-based health clinics, and have effectively shut down medical research in the United States of America.
Clearly, Donald Trump and Republicans know that they have a very weak position because they are hurting everyday Americans while continuing to reward their billionaire donors, just like they did in that one big, ugly bill with massive tax breaks.
Democrats are united in the House and the Senate, and the point that we’ve made will continue to be clear: we are fighting to lower the high cost of health care, prevent these dramatically increased premiums, copays, and deductibles that will take place in a matter of days unless Republicans are willing to act in terms of renewing the Affordable Care Act tax credits.
Instead of backing off, Trump doubled down. On Tuesday night, he reposted the MSNBC interview, this time with Jeffries again decked out in a sombrero and mustache, only now surrounded by four Trumps playing instruments in the background.
It was devastating mockery. Trump knows Democrats hate humor because it exposes the absurdity of their agenda.
