Major European indices shut the day with blended outcomes

The major European indices are closing the day with mixed results. The German DAX and France’s CAC are settling lower.

The final numbers are showing:

  • German DAX, -0.39%
  • France’s CAC -0.36%
  • UK’s FTSE 100 +0.11%
  • Spain’s Ibex +0.08%
  • Italy’s FTSE MIB +0.08%

As London/European traders look for the exits, the US indices are trading higher:

  • Dow industrial average +190 points or 0.45% at 42406.92
  • S&P index +27.63 points or 0.46% at 6010.40
  • NASDAQ index +120.69 points or 0.62% at 19642.50.

Looking at the US debt market ahead of the FOMC rate decision at 2 PM:

  • 2-year yield 3.918%, -3.2 basis points
  • 5-year yield 3.943%, -4.4 basis points
  • 10-year yield 4.347%, -4.3 basis points
  • 30-year yield 4.852%, -4.0 basis points

After settling yesterday at $73.27, the current pricing is trading at $72.40 down $0.87 on the day. The low price reached $71.36.

Gold prices are trading steady above and below unchanged at $3391.89. That is up around $2.25 on the day.

Bitcoin is trading near unchanged at $104,838.
