Major WWE identify pushes for spot in John Cena Classic, calls out a number of opponents

The John Cena Classic was announced by The Cenation Leader himself at Backlash. The tournament will pit the current crop of main roster talent against the future stars, similar to Saturday Night’s Main Event in December, where Cena wrestled his final match. Now, a major name has declared interest in the upcoming tournament.

Blake Monroe recently had a conversation with Marca, in which she discussed potentially participating in the John Cena Classic. The Glamour stated that the tournament needed a star like her and called out multiple opponents, including Tatum Paxley and Kendal Grey.

“Of course I want to be a part of it. It looks like it’s going to be a huge tournament, and obviously, you need to headline it with a huge name like The Glamour Blake Monroe. As for who I’d like to face, I just escaped the women of NXT. They were tormenting me. But we have so much talent. I would love to face Tatum [Paxley] again because we have unfinished business after she put me in a coffin. There’s also Kendal Grey, along with a lot of new European additions. I would love to be involved. And if I’m not, I’ll enjoy watching it because it will be interesting to see how all these people coming from different places clash,” Monroe said. [H/T: WrestlePurists]

John Cena comments on tapping out to Gunther in his last match

Speaking on the Adam’s Apple YouTube channel, John Cena commented on tapping out to Gunther in his final in-ring outing.

“I think we all just live in the moment, right? I think this is just my perspective, and if people are upset, that’s their right. You can feel how you want to feel. I had a career that was polarizing, right? That was a polite word for people who would chant at the top of their lungs that I suck. So, I think with the last match, the audience was polarized. There were people who understood and were entertained in a positive way. There were people who were so in the moment and reacted with such passion. It was like a microcosm of my career. The audience was split. I can’t think of a better way to close a chapter than that, right? It defines what I did,” Cena said.

John Cena has made it clear that he will never step in the ring again following his retirement in December last year.
