Mana-Tombs is one of the better dungeons in WoW TBC, and if you’re going with a dungeon grinding route, you’re going to spend a lot of time here, so you may as well do the quests available here as well. Located among the Auchindoun dungeons, this is a location that’s going to net you Lower City reputation in Shattrath, so consider that as well. Technically, you can start going to this dungeon at level 61, but we don’t recommend you go until about 64.
Despite this being a Lower City rep grind, you’re also going to gain Consortium rep in the Mana-Tombs during your WoW TBC adventures, if you do the quests, anyway. If you’re dungeon grinding, you may still want to wait to turn these in until you’ve hit Honored with The Consortium. Nonetheless, here are all the quests and loot you can pick up in the Mana-Tombs.
All WoW TBC Mana-Tombs quests and how to complete them
The Mana-Tombs dungeon is in Terokkar Forest in WoW, down in the huge Auchindoun region. It’s the blighted, gray area to the south, so it’s incredibly easy to spot. If you’re using the TomTom addon, you can get directly to the Mana-Tombs entrance with the coordinates (29.0, 62.5). It’s the northern entrance, from the center of Auchindoun. There are a trio of quests you can complete here, as well:

- Safety is Job One
- Undercutting the Competition
- Someone Else’s Hard Work Pays Off
Safety is Job One is arguably the easiest quest for WoW TBC’s Mana-Tombs, and you pick it up outside the dungeon (39.4, 58.6). Artificer Morphalius wants you to kill a bunch of creatures inside the dungeon.
Just clear everything in the dungeon, and you’ll get this in one run. When you defeat the final boss, use the Ethereal Transporter Control Panel (in the room before Nexus-Prince Shaffar). Completing this nets you EXP, and 350 Reputation with The Consortium. As a side note, everyone has to use this themselves. It’s not a group turn-in. You’ll need to kill:
- 10x Ethereal Crypt Raiders
- 5x Ethereal Sorcerers
- 5x Nexus Stalkers
- 5x Ethereal Spellbinders
Next up is Undercutting the Competition, which is given to you by Nexus-Prince Haramad, outside of the Mana-Tombs instance in WoW TBC. It’s simple enough: kill the final boss (Nexus-Prince Shaffar) and loot Shaffar’s Wrappings. Then, return to the quest giver, and claim your reward, alongside EXP and 500 The Consortium reputation (one of the following):
- Haramad’s Leg Wraps (Cloth Legs)
- Haramad’s Leggings of the Third Coin (Leather Legs)
- Haramad’s Linked Chain Pantaloons (Mail Legs)
- Consortium Plated Legguards (Plate Legs)

Someone Else’s Hard Work Pays Off should be done last, after you’ve cleared the entire instance. You’ll find Cryo-Engineer Sha’heen inside the dungeon, and you’ll need to escort them through the Mana-Tombs dungeon in WoW TBC, to gather Ether. The reason I say you should do this last, is it will spawn enemies for you to defeat as you go.
For that reason, you don’t want extra enemies, on top of that. If Cryo-Engineer Sha’heen dies, he will not respawn. Just follow him, defeat the enemies that spawn, until you reach the desired location. Then go back outside, claim your EXP, 500 The Consortium Rep, and one of the following items:
- Consortium Prince’s Wrap (Cloth Belt)
- Cryo-mitts (Leather Gloves)
- Consortium Mantle of Phasing (Mail Shoulders)
- Flesh Beast’s Metal Greaves (Plate Boots)
All potential boss loot from Mana-Tombs in WoW TBC
Below is a list of all the potential boss drops from the Mana-Tombs in WoW TBC, for both Normal and Heroic instances. If you want to unlock Heroic Mode, you need to be level 70, and have Revered reputation with Lower City. Then you can purchase the Auchenai Key.
To fight Yor, you need to complete The Mark of the Nexus-King, which is a quest that begins in Blade’s Edge Mountains. It’s a part of a very lengthy quest chain. However, when you’ve done it, you can unleash Yor as an optional boss for the Heroic version, in Shaffar’s room.
