MANCHESTER CITY – Away

Defending Premier League champions Manchester City celebrate the 25th anniversary of an iconic club moment with their 2024-25 away kit, made by Puma. It was in 1999 that City came from behind to win the Second Division Play-off Final over Gillingham, the first step on a long journey back to the Premier League after dipping into England’s third-tier league. The navy blue shirt with neon yellow stripes bordered in light blue mirrors the away kit worn by the 1998-99 squad. Both the polo collar and the sleeve cuffs have yellow and blue trim.

🇮🇹 INTER MILAN – Away

Meanwhile in Italy, defending Serie A champions Inter Milan have gone with a classic look in tribute to their home city’s architecture for their 2024-25 away kit, made by Nike. The shirt is solid white with a slate blue foldover collar and the club crest in monochromatic dark blue on the chest. The sleeve cuffs are slate blue with white and dark blue striping, and the side panels are split diagonally between the two shades of blue. Like on their home kit, the scudetto in the middle of the away kit’s chest contains an embossed “20” and an Inter crest.

🇩🇪 BORUSSIA DORTMUND – Third

Fellow Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund harkens back to their first stadium, the Borussia-Sportplatz, for their 2024-25 third kit, made by Puma. The white kit features a tonal pattern of poplar trees similar to those that used to surround the stadium, also known as the Weiße Wiese, and color the surrounding area white with their flowers. In 1924, 100 years ago, the stadium underwent a major renovation when Borussia Dortmund was promoted into the German football league system. The 2024-25 kit also features a black polo collar and black sleeve cuffs with a yellow stripe through the middle.

🇩🇪 1. FC UNION BERLIN – Home and Away

German Bundesliga side 1. FC Union Berlin are putting their home city in the spotlight with their 2024-25 home and away kits, made by Adidas. Like their yellow third kit, their red home and black away kits feature a “BERLIN” wordmark on the front, with the city’s iconic television tower serving as the I. The red home kit has white raglan sleeves, and the bear from the club’s crest appears as part of a repeating embossed pattern. The black away kit, meanwhile, has a tonal grey pattern in between red horizontal stripes that is also inspired by the television tower.

🇩🇪 BAYER LEVERKUSEN – Third

Meanwhile, defending Bundesliga champions Bayer Leverkusen debuted a new third kit made by Castore this week during a preseason friendly with Premier League club Arsenal in London. The black base of the kit is covered in “different elements of the Farbenstadt (description of city of Leverkusen based on dye and chemical production in the nineteenth century) Leverkusen across the kit in graffiti form.” Light grey run under each arm and taper as they reach the shoulders. The club crest is rendered in monochromatic cyan, and other sponsor logos are also printed in cyan. The back is solid black.

🇩🇪 1. FSV MAINZ 05 – Third

Bundesliga side 1. FSV Mainz 05 pay homage to their “golden” home city with their 2024-25 third kit, made by Jako. The kit is mostly white, with a gold pattern of triangles and parallelograms on the sleeve cuffs and collar that matches the coral pattern on their away kit. A golden Mainz coat of arms sits on the back collar.

🇩🇪 FC AUGSBURG – Third

German side FC Augsburg’s third kit for 2024-25, made by Mizuno, has been dubbed the “Roman kit” based on the embossed pattern across the front of the shirt, which combines “ancient Roman motifs that can still be seen in Augsburg today together with elements of the club’s badge.” The base of the kit is burgundy — or “Bordeaux,” as the club is calling it — and it has gold trim on the collar and sleeve cuffs. The club crest and sponsor logos are one-color gold.

🇩🇪 TSG 1899 HOFFENHEIM – Third

Bundesliga side TSG 1899 Hoffenheim hopes to evoke the nature of their region of Germany with their third kit for 2024-25, made by Joma. The shirt is neon green, with a dark green wood grain pattern across the front, “drawing inspiration from the Kraichgau region and the surrounding nature.” Dark green trim also adorns the collar and sleeve cuffs, and the club crest is rendered in dark green and white.

🇮🇹 TORINO FC – Home

In Italy, Serie A side Torino FC know that, if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it, so they’re sticking with their traditional maroon motif for their 2024-25 home kits, made by Joma. This year’s version does, however, have a tonal pattern that pays tribute to the Mole Antonelliana, a major landmark in their home city of Turin. The sleeve cuffs and collar are the same shade of maroon as the shirt, but have trim that is slightly darker.

🇮🇹 AC MONZA – Home and Away

Fellow Italian club AC Monza are also sticking to tradition with their 2024-25 home and away kits, made by Lotto. The red home kit and white away kit both have one contrasting vertical stripe on the left side of the shirt, running under the crest. This year, though, both crests have piping on the sides and shoulders, and in between the piping are repeating Lotto logos.

🇮🇹 SS LAZIO – Away

Serie A side SS Lazio turn up the volume with their away kits for 2024-25, made by Mizuno. The bright yellow base of the kit features the same embossed geometric pattern found on the front of their home kit, which includes “SS LAZIO” lettering. The V-neck collar and sleeve cuffs have navy blue trim, and the Mizuno logo on the chest is also navy blue.

🇮🇹 CAGLIARI CALCIO – Home

Like they did on their third kit, Serie A side Cagliari Calcio weaves a bit of gold into their traditional look for their 2024-25 home kits, made by Eye Sports. The club’s usual half-red, half-blue home shirt is accented with a gold pattern between the two halves, inspired by the artisan goldsmith factory of Fernando Marrocu and sons. “In the laboratory, exclusive works of unique refinement are created: interweavings of threads and granules expertly placed on thin sheets of gold that, with the precision of master goldsmiths and thanks to research an studies, take on ancient but always current forms” (translated to English by Google).

🇮🇹 HELLAS VERONA – Third

Gold is also a big part of Italian side Hellas Verona’s new third kit for 2024-25, made by Joma. The black kit features metallic gold striping on the collar and sleeve cuffs, along with gold side panels, sponsor logos and club crest. Pinstripes are woven into the black fabric of the shirt. Every time Hellas Verona wears these third kits in 2024-25, they’ll be auctioned off to raise money for charity.

SOUTHAMPTON FC – Third

After including prominent dazzle camo elements on both their home and away kits for 2024-25, Premier League side Southampton FC have de-emphasized the pattern on their third kits for the season, made by Puma. The shirt itself is solid bright pink with white side panels, and the dazzle camo shows up in the stand-up collar and sleeve cuffs. The club crest and Puma logos on the chest and shoulders are all one-color yellow.

IPSWICH TOWN – Third

Pink is also prominent in newly promoted Premier League side Ipswich Town’s third kit for 2024-25, made by Umbro. At the top of the pink shirt is a silhouette of Framlingham Castle, made famous by Town superfan/sposnor Ed Sheeran’s song “Castle on the Hill.” “Soundwaves created from the cheer of the crowd as players run out of the tunnel also appear on the front of the shirt, along with a representation of the 60 miles of Suffolk coastline, running from Felixstowe to Lowestoft,” the club says on its website. The pink color is a nod to cottages painted in the same color across Suffolk County.

AFC BOURNEMOUTH – Third

Elsewhile in England, Premier League side AFC Bournemouth have unveiled a “deep lagoon and scuba blue” third kit, made by Umbro. The front of the shirt has a diamond pattern — inspired by the manufacturer’s classic logo — with “natural textures and elements that are inspired by Bournemouth and its iconic coastline” within each one. The club crest and sponsor logo are monochromatic gold, and other gold accents appear on the collar and sleeve cuffs. A seashell “AFCB” logo is printed on the back collar

🇫🇷 AS MONACO – Third

As part of its 100th anniversary celebrations, French Ligue 1 side AS Monaco has released a new third kit, made by Kappa, that “evokes the futuristic and innovative architectural projects that are reshaping Monaco’s urban landscape, as well as the future.” The base of the kit is white, and undulating grey lines become more visible as you move toward the hem. The crew neck collar and sleeve cuffs have black striping, and all the logos on the shirt are one-color black.

🇫🇷 LILLE OSC – Third

Ligue 1 side Lille OSC put a modern twist on a traditional color scheme with their third kit for 2024-25, made by New Balance. The black and yellow colors “symbolise those of Flanders, a famous cross-border region of which Lille is the historic capital,” according to the club’s website (translated to English by Google). Meanwhile, the pattern of black and grey pentagons covering the shirt is a reference to the Citadel of Lille, which was built in the 17th century and whose shape is also the basis of the Lille OSC crest. The collar is solid grey with yellow trim, while the side panels are solid yellow and the sleeve cuffs have broad black and yellow stripes.

🇫🇷 AJ AUXERRE – Away and Third

Newly promoted Ligue 1 side AJ Auxerre unveiled away and third kits this week to go along with their home kit for 2024-25, all of which are manufactured by Macron. The black away kit features a pattern of embossed club crests across the front, along with white and blue trim on the collar and sleeve cuffs. And the blue third kit takes the pattern of triangles from the home kit’s sash and turns it into a band across the chest with the sponsor’s logo in the middle. The collar and sleeve cuffs are solid white.

🇫🇷 RC LENS – Third

Ligue 1 side RC Lens look to bring refinement and elegance to their traditional red and yellow colors with their third kit for 2024-25, made by Puma. The base of the shirt is white, which highlights the red and gold vertical lines running down the front of the shirt. The V-neck collar is yellow with a white insert at the front. The club crest appears in full color on the chest, and sponsor logos are black.

🇫🇷 OLYMPIQUE DE MARSEILLE – Third

Ligue 1 side Olympique de Marseille is revved up for its new third kit for 2024-25, made by Puma. The bright orange base has a tonal pattern that’s meant to resemble the front grille of a car, and the back half of the V-neck collar and the sleeve cuffs contain a blue and black checkerboard pattern. Sponsor logos and the club crest are all rendered in deep blue.

🇫🇷 STADE RENNAIS – Third

Art and soccer collide with Ligue 1 side Stade Rennais’s third kit for 2024-25, made by Puma. The black kit features a grey and white graffiti pattern all over in tribute to street art found around the city of Rennes and near the team’s home stadium, Roazhon Park. The polo collar and sleeve cuffs are solid black.

🇫🇷 AS SAINT-ÉTIENNE – Third

Back in Ligue 1 this season, AS Saint-Étienne have gone in a new direction with their 2024-25 third kit, made by Hummel. The kit is predominantly gold — a first for the club — with black sleeves and a black polo collar. Like other Hummel kits this season, the shoulders of Saint-Étienne’s third kit features a pattern of silhouettes of famous buildings around their home city, such as such as the Hôtel de Ville, the Cathédrale Saint-Charles, the Chevalement de la mine, the Zénith and the Stade Geoffroy-Guichard. The club crest and sponsor logos are all one-color black.

🇪🇸 REAL BETIS – Third

Another Hummel kit with the city silhouettes on the shoulders was unveiled by Spanish La Liga side Real Betis this week as their third kit for 2024-24. The body of the kit is blue, while the sleeves are a lighter shade of blue. The pattern on the shoulders depicts such Seville landmarks as la Catedral, la Torre del Oro, la Plaza de España, las Setas and el Puente de Triana. Unlike Saint-Étienne, though, the city silhouette pattern is also found in the side panels and in trim on the sleeve cuffs.

🇪🇸 VALENCIA CF – Third

La Liga side Valencia CF pay tribute to the club’s 1974-75 squad with their 2024-25 third kit, made by Puma. The orange kit with green trim on the collar, sleeve cuffs and sides mimics what iconic players like Claramunt, Juan Cruz Sol, Cerveró and Salif Keita wore as an away kit 50 years ago. The orange also represents “the vitality and energy of Valencia and its people, its Mediterranean sunsets, and forming the basis of the symbolism of la Huerta (fertile agricultural lands surrounding Valencia), local roots, and customs,” according to the club’s website.

🇪🇸 REAL VALLADOLID – Third

La Liga side Real Valladolid pays tribute to the wine growers of their home region of Castile and León with their third kit for 2024-25, made by Kappa. The wine-red shirt has a tonal swirl pattern all over, which “exemplifies the flow of this liquid in the glasses and cups present on so many tables in Valladolid” (translated to English by Google). The yellow trim on the black polo collar and sleeve cuffs, meanwhile, represent white wine, “also a deep-rooted tradition in the province.” A yellow map of Castile and León is printed on the back collar.
