Manchester United are allegedly willing to include Marcus Rashford in a swap deal involving France and Roma star Manu Kone in the summer transfer window.
Rashford, 28, is set to report to Carrington for pre-season training soon following a great season-long loan spell at Barcelona in the 2025-26 campaign. He helped the Blaugrana win the La Liga title last term, scoring 14 goals and recording 14 assists in 49 overall matches for the Catalans.

The 2026 FIFA World Cup star, whose £26 million buy clause was not triggered by Barcelona, is reportedly valued at around £40 million now. However, he has yet to draw serious interest from another club so far this summer.
Now, according to Italian outlet Gazzetta Dello Sport, Manchester United are ready to explore the option of offering Rashford to Roma to acquire Kone’s signature this summer. However, the Red Devils’ hierarchy are aware that the attacker’s salary is likely to make negotiations quite difficult.
Michael Carrick‘s outfit have been quite active in the window so far, signing Andrey Santos and Youri Tielemans for a combined fee of £85 million. They are still on the lookout for another midfielder following Casemiro’s exit as a free agent and Manuel Ugarte’s anterior cruciate ligament injury.
Should Kone secure a permanent move to Manchester United, he could pop up as good signing for them. He would offer healthy competition for places to the likes of Tielemans, Santos, Kobbie Mainoo, and Mason Mount.
Troy Deeney predicts where Manchester United will finish in Premier League next campaign
Former Watford striker Troy Deeney has claimed that Manchester United will fail to finish in a top-five spot in the 2026-27 Premier League standings next season. The Englishman said (h/t Metro):
“I don’t think they’ll make the Champions League places right now. The reason is we don’t know what Carrick’s like with three games in a week at this level. Obviously, we saw a bit of Championship, but not at this level. Now, having to look at the Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup, Carabao Cup, you can’t go out as early as you have done in previous years.”
Deeney, who netted 47 Premier League goals, continued:
“There’s an expectation now to do more. Bruno Fernandes, do you really think he’s going to have the season he had last season again this season? I just think that with the squad currently constructed as is, I don’t think there’s enough depth to get through all of those competitions, which I think will ultimately leave them short.”
With no European competition to compete in, Manchester United finished third last season with 71 points from 38 Premier League games. They will face Hull City in a season-opening match at MKM Stadium on August 22.
