Manchester United Ready to Shine in New Home Kits – Plus More Unveilings From Europe’s Top Leagues – SportsLogos.Net News

Manchester United are ready for the spotlight in their new home kits for 2024-25.

The English Premier League powerhouses unveiled the new kit, made by Adidas, on their website and social media channels on Monday, July 1. The shirt fades from a lighter red at the top to dark red at the bottom “creating a unique glow effect,” with white accents on the collar and shoulders.

“A final bright, flame-like red insert – in a colour expression never seen before on a Manchester United home kit – runs down the side panel of the shirt and shorts, creating a connecting line that stands out against the stadium backdrop as players are in motion,” the club adds on its website.

This is the first Manchester United home kit with their new front-of-shirt sponsor Snapdragon, a brand under the umbrella of tech company Qualcomm.

Manchester United’s preseason kicks off on July 15 with a friendly against Norwegian club Rosenborg BK in Trondheim, Norway. They’ll also play two preseason games in the United States: July 27 vs. Arsenal at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles and July 31 vs. Real Betis at Snapdragon Stadium in San Diego.

TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR — Away

Fellow Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur are throwing it back to the 1980s with their 2024-25 away kit, made by Nike. The light blue stripes on the kit are “synonymous with away kits from some of the most eras in the club’s history,” according to Spurs’ website. The V-neck collar is a darker shade of blue, and the sleeve cuffs have blue, white and yellow striping. The club crest is placed in the center of the chest.

🇩🇪 VfL WOLFSBURG — Home & Away

Over in Germany, Bundesliga side VfL Wolfsburg is ready to crank up the volume in their new home and away kits for 2024-25, made by Nike. The home kits go all-in on Wolfsburg’s signature shade of neon green, with a vertical stripe down the center of the front that’s divided diagonally between tones of green. The away kit, meanwhile, has a black base with faint green stripes on the front that fade to black as they reach either the top or the bottom of the shirt.

🇩🇪 EINTRACHT FRANKFURT — Home

Elsewhere in the Bundesliga, Eintracht Frankfurt are bringing their kits from the late 1980s and early 1990s into the present day with their 2024-25 Nike home kit. It’s mostly white — something of a switch from the black bases the club has used in recent seasons — with red sleeves and a tapered black block across the shoulders on the front of the shirt. It also has black side panels and a star in a “subtle” grey gradient on the lower left side of the front. Names and numbers will be printed in black on the back.

🇪🇸 VILLARREAL CF — Home

Spanish La Liga side Villarreal CF pays tribute to the ceramic tile industry, which has fueled the province of Castellón, with its 2024-25 home kits made by Joma. The front of the traditional yellow shirt features “an elegant, sublimated design has been added, featuring subtle silhouettes throughout the fabric that reference the city’s and the club’s ceramic tradition.” The V-neck collar and sleeve cuffs are dark blue with a narrow yellow stripe through the middle, and navy blue stripes run across the shoulders.

🇪🇸 GIRONA FC — Home

Elsewhere in Spain, La Liga side Girona FC have ditched their usual red and white stripes in favor of a pattern with greater local significance for their 2024-25 home kits made by Puma. The red-and-white waves on the front of the new kit are taken directly from Girona’s coat of arms, “being a variation that can evoke the ripples of water, has been popularly related — although it has no historical validity — to the waters of the city and, by extension, the rivers that flow through it.” The sleeves and crew neck collar are solid red, as is the panel on the back that allows for name and number legibility.

🇪🇸 CD LEGANÉS — Away

Meanwhile, CD Leganés have been promoted back to La Liga after a four-year absence, and their new Joma away kits for 2024-25 celebrate another famous promotion in the club’s history. The green shirt features a darker green stripe across the chest, in which there’s a repeating silhouette of a player performing a bicycle kick. That silhouette is based on a photo of striker Carlos Álvarez, whose goal in a playoff match against CE L’Hospitalet at the end of the 2013-14 season led to Leganés being promoted to the Spanish Segunda División for the first time in 10 years.

🇮🇹 SS LAZIO — Home

Italian Serie A side SS Lazio is showing off their faith and passion with their 2024-25 home kits, made by Mizuno. The shirt is Lazio’s traditional light blue, with an embossed geometric pattern running across the front of the shirt that includes “SS LAZIO” lettering. The V-neck collar and sleeve cuffs feature white and navy blue trim. The back collar features the club motto “One Faith, One Passion” in navy blue Japanese characters — a nod to the heritage of kit manufacturer Mizuno.

🇫🇷 OLYMPIQUE DE MARSEILLE — Home & Away

The tonal flags in the side panels of French Ligue 1 side Olympique de Marseille’s 2024-25 home kit, made by Puma, are a tribute to their fans and the flags they fly in the stands each matchday. The dark blue away kit, meanwhile, features a ripple pattern all over as a tribute to the Mediterranean Sea and the “dolce vita” of Marseille. The gold club crest and sponsor logos “subtly recall the colors of the sun.”

🇫🇷 TOULOUSE FC — Home

Meanwhile, fellow Ligue 1 side Toulouse FC unveiled the first home kits under their new contract with Nike on Monday, July 1. The new kits retain Toulouse’s traditional purple base, accenting it with a lighter purple sash running diagonally down the front of the shirt. The collar and sleeve cuffs are the same shade of purple as the base of the shirt, and the sponsor and Nike logos on the chest are white.
