Mercedes Mone is one of the most influential stars in the wrestling world currently and her run in AEW has more than proved that point. She has held onto multiple titles for the longest time and has shown no signs of stopping.
That is proof of her talent and also the great amount of star power she wields. Tony Khan has seemingly long been in awe of her and it is not a surprise, given how much influence Mercedes has. She still has a lot of connections with WWE stars from her time in the Stamford-based promotion and she could introduce a former star as her newest ally at All In 2025. That is none other than Shotzi.
Shotzi was let go rather surprisingly a few months back and with her still a free agent, the time could be right for Tony Khan to bring her in. On top of that, she recently spoke about how she was impressed with AEW and the kind of freedom the stars get there.
The former WWE star also reflected on how the female stars get to perform some daredevil stunts that grabbed her attention. It is clear that she wants to come to AEW and the time might be right for her to go there.
Deonna Purrazzo lays out challenge to Mercedes Mone
Mercedes Mone has been laid down a challenge by Deonna Purrazzo and that has come with an interesting stipulation.
Deonna was speaking with the Lightweights podcast when she said that she wants to face Mercedes Mone in a submission match.
She said:
“A submission match [against] Mercedes Mone. I just think we’ve both, like, established careers on our submissions. Me with the Fujiwara, primarily in WWE, with her with the Bank Statement. I just think that the wrestler she is, and she is very much a technician in her own right, and so am I, we can make magic, particularly with a submission match.”
It will be interesting to see how this potential match will come to take place. Maybe this could be the perfect chance for Shotzi to make her presence felt and take her place on the side of the TBS Champion.
