Troy Aikman is all-in with the Miami Dolphins. According to Pro Football Talk, the three-time Super Bowl-winning quarterback and Dallas Cowboys legend is joining the Dolphins in an undetermined capacity.
“I’ll continue to help in ways that are yet to be defined, Aikman said in an interview with Clarence E. Hill Jr.
Thanks for the submission!
“I don’t have any ownership. I don’t have the influence, if you will, that Tom (Brady) seemingly has there with the Raiders. So it looks similar, but I’m not so sure that it is.”

“It all goes back to Brady’s dual role. The moment the league shrugged at Brady working as Fox’s No. 1 analyst and owning a piece of the Raiders, a bridge was crossed, Florio said.
“Aikman is merely the second guy across that bridge. Unless the league burns that bridge down, any team that doesn’t follow suit will be at a competitive disadvantage.”
It’s important to note that Troy Aikman remains a lead broadcaster with ESPN. Of course, there’s no conflict of interest between the Dolphins and Cowboys, but the lines are significantly blurrier between his job as a broadcaster and his new role in the Dolphins’ front office.
One factor to consider is the potential situation of Aikman showing up at one of the Dolphins’ potential opponents’ facilities. Couldn’t he potentially reveal findings made to his employers?
According to Pro Football Talk, the league has said it will address the situation “at the appropriate time”. For now, Aikman can be a part of the decision-making process in Miami for the foreseeable future.
Tom Brady’s Las Vegas Raiders are entering a new era
While Troy Aikman is figuring out his new role in Miami, Tom Brady is gearing up for another season as a part of the Las Vegas Raiders organization. The seven-time Super Bowl winner is a minority owner of the Raiders.
According to Sports Illustrated, Tom Brady was all over the meetings they had before appointing new coach, Klint Kubiak. Brady wanted the team to get the most sought-after coach in the market to lead the Raiders’ rebuild.
His influence can also be seen in the signing of numerous top-tier free agents this offseason. It’s also looking increasingly likely that Tom Brady will have a major voice on what the Raiders do in the 2026 NFL Draft.
Fernando Mendoza is widely considered to be the first pick in the draft. The Raiders hold that pick, and they’ve brought in Kirk Cousins to potentially serve as a bridge while Mendoza gets used to the big leagues.
It’s a new era in Las Vegas, and Tom Brady’s fingerprints are all over it. Only time will tell whether the Raiders can end their four-season playoff drought.
