The US major indices are trading mixed with the NASDAQ lower, the S&P near unchanged and the Dow industrial average higher. The small-cap Russell 2000 is also up modestly. A snapshot of the market currently shows:
- Dow industrial average up 138 points or 0.31% at 44462.24
- S&P index unchanged at 6305.44
- NASDAQ index lower by 88 points or -0.43% at 20885
- Russell 2000 up 4.68 points or 0.21% at 2235.55.
The NASDAQ and S&P indices both closed at record levels yesterday but of their highest levels near the low for the day.
Alphabet is working on its 10th straight day to the upside. That move saw the price move from a low of $172.81 to a high today of $191.53. However the price has since reverse and currently is trading down $1.70 or -0.94% at $188. Alphabet will announce their earnings tomorrow after the close.
