Morgan Stanley’s chief US economist Ellen Zentner spoke at a convention re her projections Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC):
- “Make no mistake, they will be cutting rates this year”
- However “they can be patient and they can take their time”
Morgan Stanley are forecasting the primary in a collection of fee cuts on the June assembly:
- Fed will maintain charges regular for longer than the market expects
- however will then reduce far more than anticipated
- first 25bp reduce in June
Then, 25bp cuts in:
- September
- November
- December
- and following on with a 25bp reduce in each assembly via 2025
