MSNBC Guest Pushes Sweeping Gun Control After LGBTQ Terrorist Murders Catholic Kids | Drew Hernandez | The Gateway Pundit

Mike Spies, a senior staff writer for The Trace, appeared on MSNBC’s Katy Tur Reports to discuss “solutions” to gun violence following a deadly shooting at a Catholic church school in Minneapolis at the hands of a LGBTQ terorrist. During the segment, Spies argued that conventional measures like “assault weapons bans” and background checks have been insufficient since their introduction in the 1990s. He emphasized that there are too many firearms in America, which are too accessible and too powerful, including handguns.

Spies explicitly called for the U.S. to adopt the approach taken by Australia, where a 1996 mass shooting led to strict gun laws, including bans on semi-automatic rifles and shotguns, and a mandatory buyback program that removed over 650,000 firearms from circulation. He declared, “Whether or not you like it, the only thing that really works… was to do what Australia did.” Spies admitted that such proposals may not be popular amongst Americans but are necessary for “change.”
