New 946 Member Cruz Montana Confirms He and Royce Keys Have History

946 recruited a new member in the form of Cruz Montana on this week’s WWE RAW. Earlier today, Montana reflected on his history with the faction’s leader, Royce Keys.

On the latest episode of WWE RAW, Solo Sikoa and Royce Keys finally locked horns in a one-on-one match to settle their differences. Keys had Jaida Parker in his corner, but the rest of his 946 teammates didn’t accompany him to the ring. Unsurprisingly, The Monstar dominated the majority of the bout. However, Sikoa found a way to gain the upper hand after hitting an Uso Splash.

In the final stages of the match, Sikoa came scarily close to besting Keys before 946 showed up. Members of the villainous faction launched an attack on The Street Champion, leading to his victory via disqualification. Roman Reigns and The Usos quickly arrived to rescue Sikoa and tackle the Keys-led stable.

The Bloodline was about to take down 946 before a mystery figure appeared. Cruz Montana, in disguise, brutally attacked the OTC. Meanwhile, Parker handcuffed Jimmy Uso, and OTM sent Jey Uso through the commentary table. In the end, Montana confirmed his alliance with 946.

An hour ago, on X, the former TNA World Champion shared a throwback picture with Royce Keys and a photo of the duo from the latest episode of WWE RAW. In the caption, Montana revealed that he and The Monstar go back a long way.

“We’ve been tapped in,” Montana wrote.

The Monstar and Montana were colleagues in AEW before reuniting on the WWE main roster this past Monday. Following RAW, False Finish reported that Keys was the mastermind behind the former Mike Santana’s inclusion in the villainous group.

WWE Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels Reacted to Cruz Montana’s Inclusion in 946 on RAW

Cruz Montana debuted in NXT in July after the conclusion of his contract with TNA Wrestling. During his early days in the black-and-silver brand, Montana unsuccessfully challenged for the NXT Championship. He is currently involved in a deeply personal rivalry with Dion Lennox.

After Montana joined 946 on this week’s WWE RAW, Shawn Michaels shared a post on X, highlighting the successful transition of several NXT stars to the main roster in the past 12 months.

“Another one moving on up! Congratulations to @Montana_NYPR on making the jump to the main roster! That’s 19 NXT Superstars making the leap to Raw and SmackDown in the last 12 months. Pretty proud of that number, but even prouder of the talent and crew who make it happen. Keep showing the world what #WWENXT is all about! See the future of WWE this week on Wednesday night at 8/7c on @TheCW and the @espn Unlimited app,” Michaels wrote.

Lennox and Montana will square off in an Unsanctioned Match tomorrow on NXT. UFC icon Michael Chandler will be the special guest referee for the contest. Fans must stay tuned to find out if the Royce Keys-led group gets involved in the grudge bout.
