New Level-AEW Revelation After WWE Exit: Kofi Bares All

The New Level member, Kofi, made a new AEW revelation after the team’s WWE departure.

He and his tag team partner, Austin Creed, left WWE in May 2026 after declining a restructured deal from TKO that included more than a 50% pay cut. As their contracts had not expired, the duo had a 90-day non-compete clause before signing with another promotion. After the clause expired, they debuted in AEW at the All In 2026 event on August 30.

In a recent interview on Close Up with Renee Paquette, Kofi revealed that the former New Day members had no conversations with All Elite Wrestling or any other promotion during the non-compete period. However, the former WWE Champion said that it turned out to be the best thing for them, as they got to spend a lot of time with their families.

“It was a lot of anticipation having to … like wait 90 days before we had any conversation with regard to where we were going to go. I mean, we talked about it in theory, but we couldn’t really make any moves for 90 days, but it ended up being the best thing because we got to spend time at home.”- [1:26-1:40]

Khan said he was excited to sign hardworking stars like Kofi and Austin, who wanted to appear on television every week, and he believed it would draw more fans and attention to his company.

“Something that got me excited about New Level, these guys are not afraid to work very hard. They told me, ‘Hey, we see Jon Moxley at AEW Dynamite and Collision basically every week. We want to be at AEW Dynamite and Collision basically every week. We want to work really hard for the company. We’re going to be there practically every week.’ That’s really exciting to have people coming in like that. That’s only gonna bring more fans and attention.”

The New Level won the AEW World Trios titles with Swerve Strickland at All In 2026 and have had a remarkable start to their tenure in the company. So, it remains to be seen what is next for them.
