The New Orleans Saints unveiled new white alternate helmets on Wednesday that they’ll wear for select games this season, confirming our report from early May.
The white helmets feature a predominately gold fleur-de-lis logo on the sides, as well as a black and gold striping pattern down the center and a metallic gold facemask.
The gold stripe also includes a sublimated fleur-de-lis pattern, similar to how their black alternate helmets include the iconic symbol often associated with French royalty.
This marks the first white helmet in franchise history, as the Saints wore black lids during the 1967 preseason before making gold helmets their primary design.
They then exclusively wore gold helmets – although they were varying shades over the years – until they introduced the aforementioned black alternate in 2022.
The Saints showed the helmets with their all-white Color Rush uniforms, which feature gold numbers outlined in black and classic striping patterns on the sleeves and pants.
Our sources previously indicated they would be joined by a new alternate uniform that would be unveiled on July 22, though it’s unclear if that remains the case.
New Orleans now becomes the 17th team in the NFL with a white helmet in its arsenal, which is more than half the league. It’s unclear when the new lids will debut.
