NFL followers react as A.J. Brown takes blame for Eagles’ 22-19 loss vs. Chargers

A.J. Brown is putting a lot of blame on his shoulders after the Philadelphia Eagles’ heartbreaking loss to the Los Angeles Chargers. Jalen Hurts threw four interceptions on Monday in their 22-19 overtime loss. One of them was an end zone too to Brown, which he says:

“Hurt the most because we’ve been setting things up all game. That one hurt me,” said Brown (Time Stamp 0:14).

Online fans had plenty to say about Brown’s post-game comments.

“Is this AI? Why he taking like that,” wondered one person.

“Hopefully he’ll stop crying and let the offense flow. The three straight game he got force fed we lost. Experiment over,” declared another.

“Maybe talk to your QB after the 3rd interception instead of sitting on the opposite side of the bench pouting,” suggested a fan.

In the interview, Brown was hard to hear as he placed a lot of blame on himself. Some believe his frustrations are hurting the team because he has, at times, not had his number called as often as we’d expect in past games. Others believe he needs to communicate more effectively rather than vent his frustrations on his own.

@JDumasReports People making jokes but actually sounds like he cares.

@JDumasReports At least he is owning up to it, his silent but disgruntled attitude towards the offense this year has been very exhausting for Philly fans I’m sure

@JDumasReports I forgive you AJ Brown just remember wins are more important than stats

Although he’s been very frustrated by the sounds of things, the way he speaks, and his body language suggest to some that he’s very passionate and cares about the team getting back on track. While there’s been a lot of frustration on offense for the reigning Super Bowl champions, Brown has often criticized himself for the team’s shortcomings. Brown has led the team with over 100 receiving yards in each of the last three games, but the Eagles wound up losing each of those outings.

Brown wasn’t the only one critical of his play on Monday. Analyst and former quarterback Troy Aikman ripped into the Pro Bowl for his drops against the Chargers.

Eagles are “in this together”

Brown owned his mistakes following their loss on Monday, but that didn’t stop critics from pointing the finger at Jalen Hurts. However, the receiver was quick to come to the aid of his quarterback.

“Obviously, he’s a quarterback; he’s going to get a lot of stuff for it. But we in this together.” Said Brown.

Hurts’ four picks were a career-high for last season’s Super Bowl MVP. Brown was targeted 13 times by him and only made six catches. He says you can’t put it all on Hurts, saying he isn’t going to be perfect. He goes on to say everyone needs to improve. With their loss to the Chargers, the Eagles dropped to 8-5 but still lead the NFC East.
