Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Puka Nacua is arguably one of the best players in his position in the league. However, the Rams wideout is still waiting for his payday.
Nacua is on a four-year, $4.1 million rookie deal he signed after being selected in the 5th round of the 2023 NFL draft. The Pro Bowl wide receiver is reportedly on a base salary of $1.03 million in 2025, making him one of the lowest paid players in his position.
Thanks for the submission!
In a video shared by NFL analyst Dov Kleiman, the Rams wide receiver said he is renting an apartment in Los Angeles as he has not been paid yet.

Fans reacted to the Pro Bowl wide receiver sharing his financial issues on social media.
“Please get him to stop talking.”
“California in general is a tax hell hole.”
“I think taxes need to be lowered. Crazy to give away more than half your money to the government.”
“He could purchase a home, this is a huge leap to say he can’t. That being said, if he is indeed paying 52% of his earnings in taxes that is ridiculous.”
“Heartbreaking? See all the homeless or people getting evicted because they can’t pay rent. That is truly heartbreaking, not this.”
Rams wide receiver Puka Nacua criticized NFL referees on livestream
The Rams wide receiver is second in the NFL with 102 receptions this season for 1,367 yards. Despite his stellar numbers, Puka Nacua is in the news for the wrong reasons after his controversial comments about NFL referees. During a live stream with Adin Ross, Nacua said:
“The refs are the worst,” Nacua said. “… Some of the rules aren’t … These guys want to be … these guys are lawyers. They want to be on TV too. You don’t think he’s texting his friends in the group chat like, ‘Yo, you guys just saw me on “Sunday Night Football.” That wasn’t P.I., but I called it.'”
Nacua’s comments are expected to receive punishment from the NFL as the league prohibits players from criticizing officials and referees.
