Shedeur Sanders earned plenty of criticism on Saturday after he made the trip to Boulder to support his former college team, the Colorado Buffaloes. After spending the first two seasons of his collegiate career at Jackson State, Sanders followed his father, two-time Super Bowl champion Deion Sanders, to Colorado, where he elevated his game.
While Colorado fans were ecstatic to see Sanders back in the stadium, NFL fans criticized the player for breaking the promise he made on Wednesday.

“Shedeur why lie like that on the stream?” another fan questioned.
“I thought he was putting out videos about how he was staying in Cleveland putting in work this week? All fluff I guess,” another fan said.
The criticism didn’t stop there, as many fans were convinced Sanders was staying in Cleveland.
“What happened to him staying in Cleveland during the bye week?” one fan said.
“So much for staying in Cleveland,” another fan said.
“I thought he said he wasn’t going to the game,” another fan wrote.
During a stream session this week, Shedeur Sanders was asked if he would make the trip to Boulder for the homecoming. He excused himself by saying that he couldn’t make it, citing that he needed to prepare during the Cleveland Browns‘ bye week.
“I’m not coming to CU homecoming,” Sanders said. “Can’t make it up there. I wish I could though, but it just can’t happen. I got treatment out here. I gotta get ready. Big ready.”
This message sparked speculation among fans, who thought Sanders was hinting at a potential start when the Browns return from the bye week. It seems that something changed before the weekend, and the rookie quarterback paid a special visit to his father’s team.
Stephen A. Smith predicts when Browns would start Shedeur Sanders
While Dillon Gabriel has shown glimpses of his talent, fans and analysts insist that the Browns should start Shedeur Sanders over the Oregon Ducks’ former quarterback. ESPN analyst Stephen A. Smith predicted when the Browns would go from Gabriel to Sanders.
“Within the next three weeks or so, we should see Shedeur Sanders,” Smith said on “First Take.”
The Browns sit at 2-6 after eight weeks. They couldn’t win with Joe Flacco under center and Gabriel, who has played better than his predecessor, has failed to fill in the win column. It seems to be a matter of time before the Browns start Sanders, but some think Kevin Stefanski is against that idea.
