BTS concluded their shows in Tampa, Florida, on April 28, 2026, but an incident left fans worrying about the safety and security of the members. One individual on the internet claimed to have stayed at the same hotel as the boy group. The story mentioned how the person ended up sharing an elevator ride with V.
Some screenshots from the original post circulated on X, briefly detailing the alleged encounter. While making their way out of the hotel’s pool, the guest claimed to have spotted V while he was leaving the gym with his guards. He apparently held the elevator door for the person as well.
While a few fans hoped to meet their idols in person, others were against the idea of sharing such information online.
People supporting the group immediately flocked to social media sites, pointing out how problematic it was for the individual to share such things. They wondered if the story post could have risked attracting shady people to crowd outside the hotel unannounced. One fan remarked on X:
“If you meet the tannies in the wild or happen to be staying at the same hotel as them, there’s no reason to tell the world, especially if they’re still there. That might be a controversial opinion to some, but it really shouldn’t be. Safety and privacy first, clout second, right?”
Many others shared previous incidents where the safety of the boy group was compromised, as enthusiastic netizens exposed BTS’s real-time location. The seven-member boy group has routinely encountered stalkers and rude encounters in their home country as well.
Stressing the fact that people need to keep these experiences private, ARMY wrote how people should share these only when BTS has left their city. Some fans observed that the members hardly get any quiet time away from the limelight.
Later on, the creator of the original post, @buckchrry, took to X and clarified that she did not reveal the name of the hotel in her story. She added that, being a Florida native, she has stayed in the same hotel multiple times before encountering V unexpectedly. The netizen further revealed that she had no conversation with the singer as they went their own way.
BTS members continue the North American leg of their tour
As the boy group performed across three dates in Tampa, they attracted about 190,000 people in their sold-out shows, as reported by Tampa Bay Times. BTS is going to continue the North American leg of the tour with their next stop being El Paso, Texas.

The septet will perform at the Sun Bowl Stadium in the state on May 2, 2026, and May 3, 2026. The South Korean singers and rappers were honored with the “Estimado Amigo” award for boosting the tourism industry and economy of El Paso.
The El Paso County Commissioners’ Office recognized the cultural impact the boy group brought to their region. The court even officially declared the two concert dates as “BTS Weekend” ahead of their shows in May.
