Azeez Al-Shaair, like most people, gave their mothers a thought, a call, or, in Al-Shaair’s case, a free meal. Al-Shaair made the trek to visit his mother in jail to give her a Mother’s Day to remember.
According to a Monday report by Dov Kleiman, Al-Shaair visited Hillsborough County Prison and paid for a brunch. He reportedly called for every mother to receive extra on that day.
Thanks for the submission!

“Powerful: Texans star LB Azeez Al-Shaair spent his Mother’s Day in Jail. Al-Shaair paid for a brunch at the Hillsborough County Prison, saying that every mother in the world deserves a special day. A role model on and off the field ❤️👏,” Kleiman posted.

Fans were quick to denounce the action, calling it an empty gesture and something done to improve his image.
“PR stunt,” one posted.
“surprised it wasn’t for being a thug like he is on the field,” another joked.
“Not a role model on the field. Numerous late hit penalties,” one replied.
Other fans, meanwhile, applauded Al-Shaair for his act of kindness. One referred to Al-Shaair’s divisional rival, Trevor Lawrence, whom Al-Shaair infamously injured last season.
“After what happened to Trevor Lawrence im not shocked,” another added.
“nice of him,” one responded.
“This is awesome 🙌🏾,” another posted.

Azeez Al-Shaair returns to Texans on new contract

Azeez Al-Shaair might be a polarizing figure in the NFL, but the linebacker did enough on the field to win over the Houston Texans this offseason. The linebacker signed a $54 million extension tying him to the team through at least the 2028 season, with the chance to stay on the same deal into 2029.
According to Spotrac, $38.75 million was guaranteed at signing, giving the linebacker more than enough to put together a brunch for his mother for this year and for years to come.
Of course, not every recent transaction with the NFL has been a lucrative one for Al-Shaair, who was hit with two substantial fines totaling roughly $35,000 over a uniform violation and an impermissible use of a helmet.
Will the Houston Texans linebacker finish his contract without another violation?
