Rome Odunze and DJ Moore were two of Caleb Williams’ top targets in the 2025 season. Odunze and Moore each contributed six touchdowns to the Bears’ run to the postseason.
The Bears have since traded Moore to the Buffalo Bills ahead of the 2026 campaign. Odunze sat down with Kay Adams and was asked if he sees himself as the WR1.

“I obviously see myself as WR1, and I want the ball every single play, but I know the rest of the WR room sees it that way as well,” Odunze said on Thursday.

“It’s that duality of I got that dog in me and I want to go and make plays. I know everybody is going to get their share and it’s going to be exciting.”

DJ Moore spent three seasons with the Bears. He was Caleb Williams’ primary target in the 2024 and 2025 seasons, racking up 98 and 50 receptions, respectively.
Rome Odunze, Luther Burden III and Kalif Raymond are the main wide receivers still on the roster. They’ll look to lock in another playoff berth for the NFC North franchise.
What’s next for Rome Odunze and the Chicago Bears?
The Chicago Bears selected Rome Odunze with the ninth pick of the 2024 draft. He was one of the seven wideouts selected on Day 1 in one of the most stacked pass-catching drafts in recent memory.
Odunze posted a stat line of 54 receptions for 734 yards and three touchdowns in 17 games as a rookie. He played his part in the Bears’ 5-12 record, showing flashes of the talent that saw him lead the NCAA in receiving yards in 2023.
Odunze dealt with injury issues in Year 2. He featured in 12 games, amassing a stat line of 44 receptions, 661 receiving yards, and six touchdowns. He posted fewer targets, catches, and receiving yards while improving his touchdown record. The Washington Huskies will now look to post career highs in his first year as WR1.
The Chicago Bears have been on an upward trajectory in the Caleb Williams era. They went 5-12 in 2024 before improving to 11-6 in 2025 and topping a stacked NFC North division. Williams and Co. then reached the divisional round before losing to the Los Angeles Rams.
The Chicago Bears have preseason games against the Cleveland Browns, Cincinnati Bengals and Tennessee Titans lined up. Their regular season opener is against the Carolina Panthers on Sunday, September 13.
