The Ontario Hockey League’s Kingston Frontenacs are turning the clock back all the way to the 1990s with the jerseys they’ll wear for an upcoming Throwback Night.
The Frontenacs unveiled the jerseys on their website and social media channels on Monday, November 17, and they’ll wear them on Friday, November 21, when they host the Peterborough Petes at Slush Puppie Place in Kingston.
The jerseys are a tribute to the “players and personalities” that defined the 1990s for the Frontenacs. The base of the jersey is black, with the Fronts’ spoked-K logo from the late ’90s on the front, complete with gold text on a black roundel.

The throwback look blends nostalgia with a modern edge, bringing back the classic striping and bold crest that energized the old barn, now refreshed with an updated black and gold colour palette. It’s a jersey that bridges eras: a tribute to the past, made for today’s Frontenacs family.
Gold stripes run around the waist and sleeves, with black and white stripes in between. Numbers on the back and sleeves are black with gold outlines, while names on the back are one-colour black. The collars are solid black.

“This is more than a jersey launch — it’s a celebration of our roots,” said Spencer Loeb, manager of marketing and digital media for the Frontenacs, in the team’s announcement. “The Memorial Centre years shaped the identity of this franchise, and the passion our fans brought every night still fuels us today. These throwback jerseys are a chance to honour that legacy while giving supporters something fresh and exciting.”
Along with the jerseys, fans at Friday’s Throwback Night can also expect classic ’90s music throughout the game; retro player introduction videos; nostalgic intermission games; and “special moments” honouring Frontenacs alumni.
While the throwback jerseys are hitting the ice, the Frontenacs are still waiting on their previously announced third jerseys with their Count Frontenac logo from the 2000s on the front. The team announced in October that the jerseys were being delayed due to “unexpected manufacturing issues currently being resolved by the Canadian Hockey League’s suppliers.”
The Frontenacs were set to debut the third jerseys on October 17, and were also slated to wear them on Sunday, November 16 against the Sarnia Sting. For the latter game, though, they ended up wearing their regular white jerseys.
