One more media firm is shedding employees because the trade’s retrenchment hits Vox Media for the second time this 12 months

On-line writer Vox Media is chopping round 4% of its workers, the most recent spherical of reductions to hit the media trade.

The cuts at Vox, the mother or father of New York Journal and the Verge, focus on design and know-how positions, in addition to Vox.com. The motion displays “turmoil” within the promoting trade and the rising volatility of search and social platforms, in keeping with a spokesperson.

That is the second spherical of layoffs on the firm this 12 months — Vox let go 7% of its workforce in March. In an announcement on X, previously generally known as Twitter, the Vox Media Union mentioned the most recent layoffs hit reporters and video manufacturing workforce members “who are voices on key issues including climate change, policy and tech.”
