Oregon Ducks To Wear New Uniform Combination In Big Ten Championship – SportsLogos.Net News

The Oregon Ducks will debut a brand new uniform combination when they take on Penn State in their first-ever appearance in the Big Ten Championship Game, which kicks off at 8 p.m. ET on CBS.

The Ducks will pair the black jerseys and black pants from their new “Fly Era” uniform set, which debuted in a 32-31 win over Ohio State on Oct. 12, with apple green helmets that feature a chrome “O” on the sides and a black facemask.

The “Fly Era” jerseys, which were also worn with chrome helmets and gray pants in a 49-21 win over Washington on Nov. 30, blend various elements from Oregon’s previous uniform designs, most notably the diamond-plate design and wings on the shoulders.

The helmets, meanwhile, were unveiled this summer as part of the Duck’s “Gang Green” set and were inspired by their more traditional 1990s design. The helmet was worn in the first three weeks of the season, including a 24-14 win over Idaho, 37-34 win over Boise State and a 49-14 win at Oregon State.

This marks the seventh time in school history that Oregon will wear green helmets with black jerseys and pants and first since a win over Oklahoma State in the 2008 Holiday Bowl, though those helmets featured a black undertone that made them appear to be color-shifting.

The Nittany Lions, meanwhile, will counter with their classic all-white road uniforms on Saturday night. This will be their first time wearing this combination in Indianapolis, as they wore their home uniforms in their 38-31 win over Wisconsin in the 2016 Big Ten title game.
