Bronny James’ girlfriend’s father took a shot at Caitlin Clark following Paige Bueckers‘ statement on equal representation for black women in coaching positions in the WNBA.
On Sunday, an Instagram account drew a comparison between the Wings star’s ESPY’s speech in 2021 and her statements in the post-game conference following a 96-91 win over the Chicago Sky.
Bronny James’ girlfriend Parker Whitfield’s father, Dondre Whitfield, dropped in the post’s comments section, firing shots at the Fever star.
“(Paige Bueckers) is dope and Caitlyn might be on dope. 😂,” he wrote.
In her ESPY’s speech, Bueckers campaigned for equal opportunities and representation for black women in sports. In her recent statement, Bueckers resonated the same sentiments in different words.
“(Black women) should get the same equal opportunity as a white woman, as a white man to be an important piece of this league,” Bueckers said. “(The league) was built on a lot of black women… So it’s definitely right for them to get the same equal opportunity as everybody else.”
Bueckers and Clark are two of the biggest names in the WNBA. They are fan favourites who are leading their teams in their quest for a championship this season.

The WNBA held the All-Star on Wednesday, with WNBA legends Cynthia Cooper and Teresa Weatherspoon choosing players for two teams among the All-Star pool. Clark and Bueckers were selected as captains for the two teams. Weatherspoon had the first pick among the starters, while Cooper had the first pick in the reserves pool.
Weatherspoon chose A’ja Wilson with her first pick. Cooper went with Dream star Angel Reese. Here is the full WNBA All-Star roster:
